(PICS) Old Jeans + Lazy Afternoon = Awesome Sandbags

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon and I was bored. Found an old pair of Levi's jeans while cleaning out my cupboard. The next hour resulted in the creation of these awesome sandbags. Made them in different sizes and thickness.

Found these more helpful because while shooting long range, I can use the exact combination of sand bags towards the stock and the butt of the rifle to get the perfect height or incline for my cricket.

"H0rizonfire"Thanks for the tip. I shoot spingers, I wonder if accuracy will be effected... guess we will find out!

I am positive it will increase the accuracy. One of my friends has a local made Springer which had a lot of recoil causing accuracy issues. If your recoil is too much and that impacts accuracy, try making a folding sandbag. Use this to keep the barrel pinned down and then shoot. (Imagine an open book flipped over a barrel). The sand weights on either side should help keep the barrel steady.

Years back, I bought a 25 pound bag of no 7-1/2 lead shot, and had my wife sew up 4 "sausage" bags. I love 'em! Once the gun is settled into the skinny bags, when I pick up the gun and sit it back down, it just takes a nudge or 2 to get it back on target.

I also have 4 large sand bags, but seldom use them except for holding odd-shaped things still for working, painting, or drying glue.

"enkey"Good idea, but the sand is heavy, is more practical with rice or as say gshadow177 with lentil, beans
Yep. Followed the advice and made some out of rice. Works almost the same. Am being a bit nitpicky here but I still prefer the consistency of the sand for the sand bag. The rice bags work just as well. I still prefer the sand bags cause they allow for more minor adjustments while shooting since the consistency is better.
