That's a 23 inch Ghost barrel.
The only difference between the 23" HP and the 17" of the Carbine/Plus is 6 inches (of barrel and carbon fiber shroud)

If a quiet shot is high on the priority list, a Ghost is not the gun. Sure, the shroud is a good design and completetly functional (versus just an aesthetical shroud), and will reduce the sound of the shot, and can be further reduced by slapping a moderator on the end. I especially like the air stripping cone in the shroud centering muzzle end. BUT, the sound of the Ghosts action (hammer/valve/etc) doesn't hold a candle to a Red Wolf or Veteran action. So, with a Ghost the muzzle sound can be minimized, but the kachunka lunka sound of the action will still be loud and proud. Ghost shot cycle is NOT crisp and pleasant like a Red Wolf or Veteran shot cycle of the same FPE.

Do you really like the pingggg of the vet better than the ghost?

No ping with my Vets. But all three are first gens.
19fpe Vet versus 19fpe Ghost isn't even comparable, either in .20 or .177. Vet is short and crisp, Ghost is the opposite.
Same goes for a .22/ 50fpe Vet versus a .22/50fpe Ghost. They're not even in the same class when it comes to pleasantness of the shot cycle. Veteran is crisp and quiet, a likeable "snick." Ghost is....not, but more like "kachunga schlunga."
And that unpleasant shot cycle of the Ghost cannot be tuned out. It's just part of the platform.

This unlikable shot cycle of the Ghost was addressed in the first six or so months of my roughly 30 month review. And I specifically compared it to the Veteran and how completely opposite their shot cycles are.

Red Wolfs also have the Veterans desirable "snick" sensation of the shot cycle.

From what I'm hearing the BlackWolf borrowed the dual transfer ports of the Veteran. And yes, FX was the first borrower of the dual ported Veteran.

It will be nice if they borrowed the Veteran shot cycle for the BlackWolf, and/or carried forward some Red Wolf firing characteristics.

First report on speed out of a 22 black wolf was 135 bar 25 gr pw 10 977 fps. Looked up the ghost in strelok same settings but 970 fps. Lol
