Pistol as a pistol.

Here's one that I have and can recommend, won't break the bank. Very good guaranty, very good battery life.

I'd say the HE407 or the HE or HS507 Holosun. They are excellent sights, but you now have to by the mount separate. Makes them a little expensive. Hard to buy better, even at those prices though. Excellent battery life and guaranty, a true "round", sharp...dot, even if you wear glasses.

Burris 1.25-4x24mm pistol scope.

I have three of the red dot clones mentioned above. One works great, the other two do not. The parallax on two is completely screwed. Red dots are supposed to stay on target no matter what angle you look at them... The 2 bad ones.... The dot moves all over the place if you change your viewing angle, so buyer beware

I have open sights, red dots, and scopes on pistols. IMO the red dots are superior for quick target acquisition and more rapid shots. The scopes are superior for absolute accuracy potential but aren't as "easy" to shoot with. Others feel otherwise, as is common with folks. One has to to try different methods for oneself to know for sure what is best for their use.

Many like Hawke scopes.

I just received a Hawke Vantage, red dot sight. Inexpensive, ok warranty, can be had in both Weaver rail and 11mm dovetail mount. The dot is clear and mostly sharp (I wear glasses), plenty usable. https://us.hawkeoptics.com/red-dot-sights.html#vantage

For the life of me, I don't understand putting a $30 sight/scope on a $1200 / $1800 rifle/pistol..! Just makes no sense. There IS...a difference in cheap sights vs. quality sights..!

I put this sight on a $560 rifle. I put better sights on better rifles/pistols !

I had two mrods one with a stock one without, used a very nice 2x7 pistol scope but soon replaced it with a small compact rifle scope, left the pistol grip on and just helt close to eye rather than arm's length.

For me was much more accurate and easier to hold steady this way especially for hunting.

Now on the bench with the pistol scope mounted and arm's length was fun and pretty accurate, but in the field rifle scope helt close to eye could brace my arm's against y body and field shoot-hunt much easier.

Everyone is different. I cannot shoot that way and always shoot pistols with a conventional pistol stance. But if it works well for you then that is all that matters.
