Other Pistol/carbine for backyard rats

I’d consider a Zoraki pistol, the top one has an aftermarket barrel and moderator.
The bottom one is a stock .22 Zoraki Ultra.
Four pumps would be fine on rats, and the pistols are very accurate too.
A bug buster scope works great on them and it’s just like shooting a miniature rifle!
That scope would be worthless for off hand shooting though.
A red dot would be good for quick off hand shooting.
With the scope and pistol you would be at around $375 or so.
I’m not sure if the Ultra has a threaded barrel for a moderator, I’d look but I sold the Ultra to my brother to deal with squirrels.
Excellent quality and very accurate pistols for sure!

Cp2. Come with short and long barrel, typically extremely accurate. Both barrels have moderators. Comes with carbine stock. Any 11mm sight mount will work.

I'd recommend a Tasco 3-9x32 if you can find one on ebay. Older scope but made in Japan and very nice. Not expensive. Just got one for my Ranchero carbine recently.

Daisy 880 or equivalent (901 or Winchester 1977XS, $65+), Buck-rail moderator ($29. be gentle on mounting and sight down the moderator and bore to an _open_ breech to confirm everything is aligned), and a 4x32 AO scope (Winchester from Daisy, $50.) Sometimes this stuff goes on sale.
With a multi-pump one can adjust the power for the situation, these Daisies are very accurate within 25 yards, will shoot fine in cooler weather (unlike CO2 guns), and aside from the light pumping, are _easy_ to shoot accurately (unlike some springers).

*Edit* You're in Florida, so CO2 is fine. Sure, Crosman CO2 pistol/carbines are very good, or the Diana Chaser setup where you can assemble a pistol or carbine from the parts. I'd be happy with any of those. Consider mounting a red LED bike light under the stock or to the barrel so you can see the critters in the dark.

I'd like one. But $300 , well probably someday

These or a 1377 , 1322 with stock.
lives in FL . so C02 is fine .

Yep, the Diana Chaser pistol/carbine kit is a good one. Lightweight and very quiet. Comes with two barrels, moderator, and removable stock. You can set it up as a single shot, or use a rotary mag. Optics ready, very versatile. I own 2, both in .177. Went with a Hawke 4x AO scope. Nice rig for the money.

Which bipod is that?

Which bipod is that?

It's a UTG "Universal" that I bought from PA. Went to look it up on their site, and they don't list them anymore. It was around $40. Decent lightweight mostly aluminum bipod, and the picatinny clamp is short enough to fit the short rail on the Chaser barrel band without modification. Can't seem to find it on the UTG site either.

The product # on the package is-

Huben pistol !!!!!!

Just buy one gun that does it all,....wanna shoot rats inside ? just detune the gun ( takes seconds ) to whatever low FPE you like then if you want to have some serious power this little, lightweight pistol can be more powerful them most rifles out there.

Also 17 rounds and semiauto sure makes for a great little carbine for pest control,....at whatever power you choose weather it's 10 FPE or 70 FPE

Fwiw, the cp2 and chaser are the same guns, sold in different markets under different brands like the Artemis brand or the Diana brand.

I recommend them because they run on co2. I don't own one, but I own two of their pcp counterparts.
Took me a little bit but I finally figured that out ;-)

Northwoods--- I see you have the Diana rifle barrel moderator installed on the pistol barrel. That is exactly what I want to do, just posted a new thread in that regard, THEN I saw THIS. How/what technique did you use to get the moderator off the rifle barrel? I'm not sure what I'd be getting into, so asking for help on this.

It's installed from the factory using red Loctite.

To remove it, I covered the rear of barrel with masking tape to protect the finish and I clamped it in a smooth jawed mill vice. Then I took a high temp heat gun that I use for shrinking/sealing the covering on model aircraft and heated the moderator up good and hot. Then I used a welding glove and one of those rubber grip pads used to remove jar lids, and unscrewed it. Lastly I carefully cleaned the red Loctite residue off the threads with a small wire brush.

I've also heard that dunking the moderator and barrel in boiling water for a few minutes will loosen things up as well.

My vote is the Chaser also as I have two of them .177 and .22 with c02 and the long barrel great shooters lite and accurate and ready to mount optics to the dovetail rail. No extras to buy cause it comes with the butt stock and moderator.
The trigger group of the Chaser/Bandit/Stormrider is very easy to work with and refine. I have a Snowpeak PP800R (essentially a regulated Bandit). The CO2 version (Chaser) should perform very similarly.
