So I'm all done with my plainsman 175 to Shorty 9404 conversion. all back together and tested. It works great. Didn't get to chronograph it or test for accuracy, will in the next few days.

The Shorty is .22 and used special steel coated lead ball

ammo, left my conversation bb much simpler to find bb's

I am still looking for a Plainsman Shorty 9404 but this will work until I find one.

Professor,

I think I follow this post but, prefer the teaching format of your videos. Your knack for showing and explaining makes it easier for me to follow and understand. Appreciate the pictures, those are some cool looking pistols. Keep up your important work in preserving our airgun heritage.

The 9404 Shorty was a gun similar to the Plainsman 175. It was .22 and shot steel coated lead balls. They are hard to find. So I took a 175 and shortened the barrel. All Heathaways co2 pistols used the same internal parts. The later models had brown grips. Here is a great read about the Heathaways air guns
