N/A Plainsman .28 Air Shotgun

Does anyone else collect Plainsman Air pistols & rifles? First I bought the co2 pistol from Ebay. That sparked my interest in Plainsman airguns.

Just bought this Plainsman .28 air shotgun. Anyone else shooting these .28?

Thanks
Randy

so that looks similar to the farco cc28 gauge shotgun, 51 caliber smooth bore I had years ago..it was bulk filled CO2 and it shot reloadable brass tube shells.. I also would run 454 lead balls in a sabot.. mine was chrome or nickel..it was made in the Philippines and I bought it from Air Rifle Specialist in Elmira New York.. ARS was the Logo for the company.. great old guy ran it, I'm sure he's long gone by now..
some time earlier this year there was a picture of one here on the forum, someone had just got a used one..
so the company Farco made them and as I understand they were labeled Farco for USA and if sold in the Philippines they would have labeled Parco.. a friend of mine brought back a Parco 22 foot pump survival rifle.. you would stand on the bale and hold it by the stock to pump it up.. around 100 pumps to full and then 20 shots before it needs pumping again..

They're a .28 caliber. Plainsman was descended from Apache. I'm not sure on the exact details but some of the people that ran Apache revised their designs and started Plainsman. Apache had a .25 air shotgun that also fired smaller caliber pellets.

so it takes a shot tube like the Farco..I made extras for it in my lathe.. some copper and some pcv and they all worked about alike.. since yours is .28 I wonder if you can find some copper tubing close enough..
did it come with any tubes you can measure and copy?

I find that old telescoping antennas are often a good source for small metal tubing.

I could turn you some if I knew length, OD and ID.. do you have any empty original shells to copy?
PM me if you want help making some..
I wonder how they compare in size to the Gamo varmint garden shotgun.. it's in 22 caliber and I reload my own shells, with 5 BB.. and I use 1/4 of a potato starch packing peanut for wads..
the Farco 28 gauge shotgun was 1/2" PVC pipe,1" long.. I don't remember I think I had to turn the outside down. factory ones were brass.. just a open tube 1" long and used a punch to cut cardboard wads for each end.

Guys

Thank you for great suggestions, once I get the airgun; I will share pics of the shot tube solution used. Again Thank you all the help.
PM me if you want to machine some out of brass or plastic.. or aluminum.. even if you find the right diameter tubing I can set up a stop in the chop saw and then finish the ends in the lathe so they are all identical and true..I'd just need the measurements and stock and then mail them to you..
