I've had an HW100 Carbine for a while now. IMO, one of the best air guns made. Extremely accurate and solidly built. A bit on the heavy side but not a real problem. Looking to possibly buy a full length version now. I've always had really good luck using 7.33 AA Falcons and the rifle was zeroed with that pellet. Recently, I discovered that my Walther LGU shoots the 8.44 AA Diablo Field extremely well (slightly more consistent than the 7.33 Falcons) so I had ordered a large lot of those pellets. Today I decided to try them in the HW100 and while they shot about 70 fps slower, they shot to almost exactly the same point of impact at 35 yards. Just enough wind to notice today and at 60 yards the 8.44's drop about 1.5" more at that range but wind drift was about an inch less. Nice bonus to have 2 different pellets shoot so similarly.

I'm shooting the 10.3 grain in my HW100 carbine, at around 875 fps. I haven't tried anything lighter, but it shoots those very well. And I agree, great rifle, have the same one in .22 also.

I've recently picked one up also -- this one. 
I've actually got it DE-tuned down to 8 ft/lbs and am using AA 10.3's with it clearing a couple of local farmers barns of pigeons and starlings. *IF* (( ** IF ** )) we have a local field target season this year - I had thought about throttling it back up to 18/19 ft/lbs -- 880'ish with 10.3's. It's got a pretty short barrel - think it'd be 1" accurate out @55 yards? FT max distance.

At my current setting I get about 850 with the 8.44's and 920 with the 7.33's. Both are very accurate for me but the 8.44's seem slightly more consistent. A while back I had the 7.33's at 980 with no loss of accuracy but about half the shot count I get at the lower velocity.

I'd think that is certainly doable. I have 2" and 1" aluminum targets hanging from tree limbs at maximum 65 yards. If the wind isn't moving the limbs I can consistently hit the 1" at 50 yards with the HW100 using lighter pellets-7.33 and 8.44. Getting beyond 50 causes an occasional miss. Any breeze makes it maybe a 50% proposition for the 1" but consistent hits on the 2" even with a bit of breeze at 55. One would think the heavier pellets would do a bit better with wind but a bit more elevation correction needed. The 2" target is 100% hits at 65 yards (my maximum) if there is no wind. Really amazingly accurate and consistent rifles.

Yeah -- I've been amazed at how reliable and *quiet* it has been / is. It should be quiet though at its current power level . . . lol. There is a tuning company out of Britain that makes 250 bar titanium air cylinders - more air, more shots and a lot less weight. Ain't cheap though . . . but. ( lol )

Yeah, the lack of noise is a big bonus-extremely quiet. Mine had just a bit of a pop when approaching 1000 fps but still not bad. I've looked at those cylinders as well. Seems there are 1 or 2 other sources for them as well. Some have the check valve so tank can be removed while filled and some do not, can't remember which is which at this moment.

Yep , love those HW100’s . Just picked up a laminate stock for my .22 . Both are shooting at 12 FPE , one in each caliber . The .22 shoots the 13.4 grain JSB exact express and the .177 loves the 8.4 grain exacts.

The one from Hw100 tuning. Not sure what you mean with the check valve but I did have to empty the cylinder before removal. It can with a new regulator and increased plenum volume.

Stock cylinder can be removed while filled due to a check valve in the cylinder. Seems some replacement cylinders have one as well while some do not. Not certain on this but I think I recall reading it while researching the replacements. Maybe not critically important, just a notation.
