N/A Please allow me to introduce myself.

Hi, everyone.

I’m the new guy, as in new to it all.
I’m 63, medical professional from far western Massachusetts.

Maybe 6 months ago I bought a $50 .177 thinking it would be fun. It was and I soon realized it was a toy and there was more out there. Not being my first rabbit hole(premium cigars), I knew the best place to find information and enablers is a forum. After scoping a few out, this was the place to be and have been lurking a few months.

You all are a wealth of information with civility throughout your disciplines.

Never shooting much of anything, and not likely to get deeply involved with the tech or tuning, I decided an HW35 and an Airmax would be a nice start. Looked around all the sites you here use and put them in a shopping cart.

Next thing I know there’s a listing on fleabay for an HW35e and a Vantage, both nib with all paperwork from AoA. He accepted $550 shipped. He had other Weihrauchs and related items. He answered all my questions, sent pics, exchanged phone#, and he had good feedback. I figured I’d rather give the money to a BOTL (brother of the lead) than a company.

I want to shoot with the irons for a while. Picked up a peep from Tech-Sights and have set coming for the stock globe.

Here’s the scope and unmarked rings it came with. Yeah, irons until I learn about scopes.

I’m looking forward to the ride. I have no expectations other than to learn something new and have fun. A new happy place.
You all are great the way you share what was shared with you. I admire and respect everyone’s knowledge and passion for shooting, whatever and however you shoot. Rondo

@Rondo - Welcome to AGN. Excellent start down the springer rabbit hole. Excellent purchases so far. I recommend some H&N Field Target Trophy .177 452 head size and .22 553 head size pellets. German barrel, German pellets. They shoot well in every Weihrauch I own (except for the HW57 but that is another rabbit hole altogether).

Those no name adjustable mounts look bad. Put them in a box and save them for a rainy day. I suggest a BKL Technologies mount. They are very robust and self-centering. The BKL 260 droop mount is my go to mount for one inch scopes. Made in the Great State of Texas.

Have fun and enjoy the ride!

Congrats on a beautiful airgun and welcome to AGN 👍🏼

The rings look like FX no limits
Interesting! I didn't even realize FX had there own rings or that they were available in dovetail mount, with adjustable moa. I don't know how, but I missed that one.

I was looking for a set of those when i was shooting long range and running out of adjustment. I didn't want the scopes elevation adjustment against it's stops especially with a springer beating on it. I wound up with a set West Hunters, that turned out to be hieght adjustable, but not moa adjustable.

I wound up modifying them to work and they do work well and look good too.

Welcome to the forum @Rondo . Looks like a very good first purchase. That's a nice peep site on there, haven't seen one quite like that myself. But if your eyes are aging like the rest of us are, you will enjoy a good scope. Lots to learn about mounting those .
Double check your breech seal. That one photo that shows the view of the rifling from the breech seems to show a damaged or missing breech seal around in the block surrounding the barrel. Check that out before shooting.

Have fun and enjoy the hobby.
