Please help me decide- MOA vs Mil for benchrest

My new Trijicon Tenmile 5-50x56 poohed the bed. I sent a repair request to Trijicon this morning.

Here’s what I wrote to Trijicon in the repair description.

Reason for Repair Request: I purchased this scope new from an online retailer and it arrived to me on Monday, 1/8/24. I had an opportunity to mount the scope to my rifle yesterday and shoot with it. The clarity appears very blurry and gets worse as the magnification increases. To me, it almost has a milky appearance to it, like looking into a clear glass of water and then placing a teaspoon of milk in it. I purchased this scope for competition, I shoot with a local club, and needed the clarity and magnification range this scope was supposed to have offered. Unfortunately, this scope has fallen way short and is unusable for my applications.

Rex, sorry to learn about your scope.

I think the scope to beat as far as clear glass right now for the price is the Athlon Heras or Ares ETR 15-60x50 which is only in MOA currently.

Pretty much overpaying for any other target scope until you get to the diminishing returns of the variable power $3000+ scopes and even still.....
My ETR is right there IQ wise with my S&B PM2 5-25 which is amazing. BTW that S&B was $3850 a decade ago.

Sorry to hear of your scope troubles
I was looking forward to a review of the scope as it applies to benchrest.
About the same time you posted, I was also looking at scopes . I looked at the Delta Stryker 5-50 x56 with the moa reticle and turrets since they had a slightly finer adjustment compared to mil ..3.5 mm/5 mm per click. I mainly shoot from a bench. I want the finer adjustments. The Delta has some incredible glass and the turrets are marked in huge numbers. Makes it easy on aging eyes. So if i was clicking, i wouldn't have to put on readers to check the numbers. I have never looked through the Trijicon, but i am very glad to be looking through the Delta.
Hope you get your scope back soon
Mike

The Delta has the same tube and lenses as the Trijicon. I believe the poor clarity of my Trijicon comes down to quality control. I had a friend of mine who shoots the same matches I do, and owns a Golden Eagle, look through the Trijicon. He concurred with me regarding its poor clarity. He went on to say that the Trijicon is unusable in its current condition.

I received the RMA from Trijicon the same day I filed the warranty claim. I'm shipping it back off to them today.
