Please recommend a .22 nitro piston gun with good accuracy and trigger

If accuracy is of utmost importance you would be much better off with the RWS Diana model 54 or 56 where you dont even need to try hard nor even need to be a good shot to shoot hole in hole all day long at 35 yards. No other Springer especially gas ram gun can repeatedly match their accuracy at 50 and 100 yards. Farthest I dropped a bird with one of mine was at about 180 yards give or take. Fun to plink with out to close to 200 yards that alone gotta tell you something. 100 yards plinking gets boring with the 54 and 56.

They are so accurate you won't believe it only good accurate PCPs can match and or beat them at 100 yards and beyond. Anything under 100 yards is hard to miss once you get the trajectory down packed.

If I was forced to totally give up PCPs either of these 54s or 56s would be the last airguns that would I part with along with a FWB300S.

If you are only target shooting and killing birds out to 50 yards or even 35 yards max the FWB300s is more accurate than the 54 and 56 at up to 35 yards. You talking one single hole groups all day long and super easy to cock and shoot all day long and unbelievably quiet too.

Gas ram guns are pretty hard to consistently shoot accurately IMHO and even if the guns are capable of one inch at 35 yards the shooter probably ain't up to it at least not consistently unless you shoot really low power. I had a Theoben Evolution 20 caliber I tapped the gas ram cap to release most of the air and got nickel sized groups at 60 yards consistently but it was only shooting at around 14-15fpe. I couldn't do it at full power. That was one gun I really regret parting ways with but the 20 caliber Crosman Premiers it really liked were discontinued that's why off it went!

I have nitro Diana 340. T o 6 trigger and very accurate. The 350 is more powerful. I have no experience with the 350. I usually prefer under 20 ft/lb gas rams. They are easier to shoot accurately. Mine is called Luxus. This means beautiful curley walnut stock. The Sig ASP20 has a 2 lb trigger. The Diana 340 has a trigger you can adjust to your preference. It's firing cycle is like a tuned Diana 34 spring rifle only better. I also have the Diana 34. Very nice too but not gas ram.

I, peersonally, would not recommend a gas piston gun. They are harsh shooters and most of the ones made now are the cheap ones-less than $200. You won't find one with a good trigger. There are some really good spring piston guns that are comfortable shooters, are very accurate, and have excellent triggers. I would recommend any Weihrauch made guns. They are the best quality and can be handed down to your heirs. The HW 95 or Beeman R9 comes to mind, or if you want the heavier underlevers, the HW97 or Air Arms TX200 are top choices. With these, you also have the option to tune the guns with aftermarket spring kits to vary the power and smooth out the recoil.

Shows these guys have them in stock.

First one is closed for flu season.

I don't think I could trust the second one since the link is redirecting and doesn't load the page properly.

Third one is out of stock in .22

Thanks for trying though.

Honestly, get a gamo wildcat whisper fusion, and throw a charlie da tuna trigger at it. Should be under $200 all said and done. Hm... no iron sights, though.

My Gamo Grizzly hunter IGT .22 has a sweet 2 stage trigger -- you only need to swap out that m2.5 screw for a longer one.

It does not shoot as well at 200m as Odoyle's heirlooms but it sure hits 'em hard at 900 fps. The beech stock is balanced & beautiful. Has open sights as well. The only downside if you haven't developed your biceps yet: it's a hard mother-cocker.

Just saw this older post after joining and searching for info on nitro piston guns, I purchased a Crosman Mag-Fire Mission 22 cal.

My first experience with air guns was a 22 cal Benjamin pump rifle which I had back in the 70's. This gun was super accurate and I enjoyed it for years. In the late 2000's I decided to buy another pellet gun after not using or having the Benjamin anymore. I purchased a brake barrel Gamo Whisper 22 cal. Not knowing that this had to be held a certain way shooting I give it to a buddy cause I could never get it to shoot accurate.

Now for this Crosman gun. I had NO idea before I bought this gun of the" military hold " that is required and that you had to find a "certain brand " pellet in order to get this gun to shoot accurate. I wanted a gun to shoot small rats and ground squirrels and targets in the 10 to 30 yard range. I thought I would try a air gun again and what sold me was the fact it held 10 rounds of 22 cal pellets.

Conclusion so far is first off the gun is heavy. My previous two were light compared to this one. The trigger after a little turning of adjustment screw is OK I guess. I have only used several Crosman pellet types so far. I took the scope, which I kept off my Gamo , and mounted on this gun since it was better than what came with this gun. I have shot probably 200 to 300 rounds so far using several shooting positions at 25 yards. I am real disappointed with my grouping so far. I am almost thinking of going with a PCP gun of some kind and giving up on trying to shoot this gun. I have read these are easier to shoot accurately. I would want a lighter gun and something easier to shoot with a magazine. I dam near thought of going back to a Benjamin multi pump gun but the PCP sounds better.

Any advice would be appreciated on your experiences, knowledge and recommendations to be able accomplish my goal.
