Plenums and where they mount

I was looking at an AirForce plenum on Trajectron. Replaces a manometer.

What i don't get is how it helps. The hole the feeds the guage is usually tiny. Is the AF hole the full 1/8? If not it would seem there can't be much flow from the plenum to the top hat chamber.

I was thinking you could tee it into any guns manometer port until i thought about the hole size.

Would it actually help feeding through the gauge port?

I don't have an AirForce rifle, but I thought they did not have regulators. What good would that plenum be on an unregulated gun? I don't see the point . . .
Easy to put in a regulator. Huben Power drop block and 1.1L bottle.

IMHO, a plenum helps the most when directly inline with the valve. Granted, we see shrinking ES and better shot counts with many plenum locations but our desire is to feed all the air the valve requires at the time of opening.

From what I see, this means greater efficiency, less wear, better balance mechanically and even a better overall sound to the gun as it fires.

Normally, we see the above benefits as well as ease of tuning, better accuracy and less pellet picky.

Of course, YMMV

I understand the benefits of a plenum. My concern was where that specific plenum mounted. I can't see how a plenum feeding through the gauge hole would be more than a very minor improvement.

I completely agree they need to be inline. I have multiple Huben Power regulators with inline plenum. Dream, as you know, has a 20CC and Max-ATH has 50CC.

I've got a couple g1/2 to g1/2 tubes that have about 15CC I've added to regulators without plenum. That was a very minimal improvement and the added length just didn't make it worth leaving in.
