HW/Weihrauch Plug Screw Availability

I've pulled the rear sights From my HW50 , R7 and Hw30 rifles, replacing with apertures on the dovetails. Has anyone purchased aftermarket plug screws to fill the empty holes? If so, what might be the designation? Amazon lists #6-48 and #8-40 blued gun plug screws, all with 1/8" long shafts. These are fairly inexpensive but I don't know if either are compatible with Weihrauch tube holes? I'm sure the rifles would share the same size screws. I can't see ordering either, only to discover that they do not fit. Anyone had experience with this?

These are metric. It's a difficult thread to find in nice hardware. I don't put anything in them. After a while you don't even notice it. The ope holes used to really annoy me and I never found a nice looking solution so I gave up. I eventually got used to them and now the two Beeman guns I have with the very desirable old blanking plates look odd to me.

Lol. I would love to look odd if I could find one of those desirable plates! 😉
Like hens teeth anymore.

That was my original intention. I'd hoped to find the old cover plates to give my rifles a finished look. Evidently they are no longer manufactured? I'd also think properly threaded gun blue machine screws would look better than the open holes. Not a big problem, but surprising that these expensive springers are not offered a factory accessory for folks using scopes and other dovetailed rear sights.

Ron’s comments explain (exactly), the process I went through 6-8 years ago👌.

Is it the one that has Beeman stamped in it? I had that one on a R10 years ago that I still kick myself for ever selling 😭
No it's not stamped Beeman it's rare because it only fits a R8 and R6 and very few plates were made for these. R7 is smaller and R1/R9/R10 size is larger. Those guns were much more popular so they made a fair amount of plates for those.

I used a couple of black button head screws that are to small, they are a loose fit
black RTV silicone to hold them in,,, and in the blank hole more RTV silicone
the silicone is easily removed if ya decide to in the future
