Plugging barrel ports on Steyr LP50?

Love my new (to me) LP50 HP pistol but it is a bit too loud for use in my back yard. I’ve tried a couple of different moderators that help a little, but the pistol still has a serious bark and I’m sure most of it is coming from the three ports on top of the barrel. I folded up a small towel and taped it over the ports which resulted in much less noise. Granted these ports have a purpose but has anyone figured out how to temporarily cover them? Something like a simple snap on device would work fine. Anyone interested in 3D printing something to try?

"...of it is coming from the three ports on top of the barrel. I folded up a small towel and taped it over..."

From LP50 HP description:

"Three barrel vents steady the weapon additionally when shot is released".

In a rifle this would be called a "muzzle break":

"A muzzle brake or recoil compensator is a device connected to, or a feature integral to the construction of, the muzzle or barrel of a firearm or cannon that is intended to redirect a portion of propellant gases to counter recoil and unwanted muzzle rise."

Tap drill the ports to give them small metric threads. Then screw some small metric set screws into the new threads.

You may experience unwanted muzzle rise or recoil without the ports.

Yes I am familiar with their purpose and I will take advantage of it when noise level is not an issue. I do not want to permanently alter this fine pistol so tapping into the ports is not an option. That’s why I was thinking of something simple that clips to the top of the barrel to dampen the noise coming from the air coming out of the ports. This would be simple for a 3D printer to create.

A piece of "quality" (not the cheap stuff), black duct tape over the ports should do.
I wouldn't do anything perminate to the barrel or shroud of my LP50.

And no, I doubt there will be any noticeable muzzle rise, as no other PCP pistols have any that might break a wrist !
Try shooting a .44 Automag.

I came up with a decent solution. Using some Dynamat incapsulated in ballistics cloth and wrapped over the top of the barrel with some small velcro straps. Not as ideal as something that clips on top of the barrel but combined with the Tanto seems to tame the bark substantially.
