Krale usually restocks pretty quick, but with the way things are now who knows. They will not be able to tell you how long as they do not work directly with Weihrauch, but through a supplier. I waited 14 months for a HW98, albeit was a .20 cal. Hopefully Krale will work out for you they are great to work with.
If they 50S is way out in the future, I’ll lean on the community’s guidance for the “next level up” while maintaining my goals. I do want to stay in the Weirhauch line of arms. Surely impressed by them!

I can’t imagine the 50 being out to long.
I just had a side conversation with a member. He mentioned “feel”. That’s a huge thing to me. I want this rifle to feel like a rifle. He mentioned the advantages of the machining found on the 35’s / 80’s.

I might have just been convinced to jump up a level.

Let me state the mission for this Airgun.

1.) accuracy is paramount. I want the ability to get solid 25y practice with peep sights. I have similar set-ups on powder burners. Extra practice is extra practice.

2.) I never want to sacrifice the ability to harvest appropriate game with a .22 pellet rifle. I want clean, efficient kills.

3.) Lifetime companion. Not something that’ll serve me now and be gone in five, ten years.

I truly don’t want to go tooooo high on the budget. I wish to add some sights to the rifle, some pellets as well. The 80SL is available in my desired chambering.

This is my HW95 with a Weihrauch Diopter. I added a custom Tyrolean stock in left hand. I would have never spent this on a gun that didn’t do exactly what your saying. The build quality of the 35/80/97 is the best of the best. The 30/50/85/95/98 is not as substantial but in no way subpar. It just reduces weight. I have had many 80’s over the past four decades and have none now and no interest in one. Also be careful that you get one that will accommodate a iron sight as Weihrauch has been making most for scope usage and the iron sights are difficult to get a good sight picture. The 35/50/85 still look to have ample drop. The 85 is a 95 with a longer barrel. Easier to cock and more distance between the sights. The 85 would do you well.

Krale has been kinda shaky lately with web listing and follow through.

My original HW35E order made in late August was almost 3 month in waiting. This gun was listed as in stock when ordered.

So last week when the HW80SL became available (in stock in both calibers), I asked if I could change my order and pay the difference. They said yes, so I paid immediately and waited a few days ..... nothing. Emailed again, asking about shipping (past experience on 15 guns was immediate). After a few days finally got a message, the HW80SL will be shipped today. Waited for the FedEx email ... nothing. Two days later, I emailed again ... and got this reply, we don't have the HW80SL, but we do have the HW80SLK.
Have never heard of the HW80SLK?, but I knew it was a Lexus model so .... emailed back within 5 min to say "ship it today!"

Again, later today .... nothing :) .

I know I'm getting irritated, but Krale never used to give you this kind of run around. They did what they said - Period!
The person I'm talking to either doesn't know the right people to communicate with, doesn't know what he's doing or their process and website link between what is available is broken.

Sorry Krale, I loved you guys in the past ... but what's going on now?

That’s insane! And I thought Maryland was bad when I lived there!

Krales website,
Page #2 shows the HW80SLK (for some reason I didn't see this before); great ... cant wait to get a shorter barrelled HW80.
I never cared for the longer version even though it must have helped cocking. So if Krale ships the gun soon - all my bad is forgotten
I wish you the best of luck Kirk, Krale hasn't let me down yet. Took a little longer, but in the end delivered.

Oh no, are they phasing out the long barrel? That’s best for irons.

I've had all the Weihrauchs and worked on them too.

That said, the HW80 is the last model I would ever buy again. It has the most inefficient powerplant dimensions of all their models, and one of the harshest shot cycles. It's just the nature of the 30mm diameter piston.

Those "machining advantages" in the form of the threaded end cap do absolutely nothing but add weight and make them a pain in the ass to work on. It's a cool touch and definitely solid, but it offers no real advantage in shooting or longevity.

If you want top accuracy, again, the HW80 would be at the very bottom of that list. It's not their easiest gun to shoot accurately due to the extra mass of the big piston flailing around.

If you want an HW80, get one. Life's too short. If you don't shoot the rest you'll never know the difference anyway ;)

My vote, for accuracy and using peep sights: HW77K in .177 Nice shot cycle, easy to put a peep on (a standard HW globe will fit on the front), and plenty of power to hunt with.

If you want to stick with a breakbarrel to "do it all" : HW95 in .177

My experience with Weihrauchs in .22 have all been disappointing. Their barrels tend to have oversized bores and be fairly pellet picky. I've always had great results from their .177s.

Just my take. You do you.

Yeah Thumper,
My HW80S was a piece of crap in .22 caliber .... and was going to sell it. A friend on the GTA suggested I try a .20 barrel before I sold.
Purchased the .20 cal barrel on PA for $113 and now it's easily my most accurate gun out to 80 yards. It has a sudden shot cycle and at 19 FPE ... is a beast. Yes, manageability and shot cycle are not it's strong points, but accuracy sure is.

Since I already have a HW30S, (2) HW50S's, (3) HW35E's, (3) HW95, R9 & R10's ---> All .177 caliber, except R9&R10 in .20,
Thought I'd go back to the HW80 in .177 caliber and really like the new stock vs. old. Also, got a .20 K barrel coming from Chambers if the .177 isn't satisfactory.

Lastly, I've bought, tuned and sold (2) HW77K's, HW97, HW98, Pro-sport & TX200 carbine ---> All .177 caliber.

For some reason, I prefer the simplicity of a Break Barrel vs. the Under Levers.
My (.177) HW95 was more accurate than the (.177) HW98.

Had a bit of an issue with an in stock notification that turned out to be a false alarm. After a few weeks I had them refund that which cost me a bit when it was all said and done. Persevered and received my blue lam 97K today after 5 months of watching and waiting all the sources. Was in Germany yesterday, and in my hands today. That is something!

Absolute, hands down my favorite air rifle is the HW50S 177cal. I,ve always had 22cal air rifles,HWs and others. I got the HW50 in 177 because I did'nt care for the
FPS numbers with the 22cal model. You would lobbing them in there at 500 & somethin FPS. MY HW 50 has the best trigger. I like it better than the trigger on my FX Dream. 5 shot dime size groups at 25 yds. And the pellet gets there fast and with authority. No spring boing noise. Fluid smooth cocking right out of the box.It likes H&N Barracuda Match and H&N FTT 4.50 pellets. I put a Hawke AMX 2-7x32 on it. It's just freakin nice. If i were'nt gonna get cremated I'd take this 1 with me.lol
