Poll : Airgun Compressor Use

Two Questions:
1) Do you consider yourself a casual PCP airgun shooter, weekend shooter, or all-the-time shooter?
2) How many times a month, on average, do you use your high-pressure airgun compressor to top off your airgun?

1) All time shooter (for over 60 years).
2) Fifty times a month when I have a working compressor. My FIFTH just died!

2) Use my compressor to direct fill only one of my guns ( 350 bar capable ) fill to 310 bar
The rest is of the time the compressor tops off a 6.8L bottle from 250 bar to 310 bar pretty much daily to top off my other guns i shoot that particular day

2. top off my guns weekly as needed, one is 250 bar and the other is 300 bar.
I am using the Omega Trail Charger.

Right now once a week of that, so compresdor use is once a month to top off tanks.
At the start of the year it’ll be 4-6 days a week, so compressor top offs could be twice a week on tanks

Oh what, another poll?


1) All the time shooter. I wake up and brush my teeth with pellets. When I walk out the door, indubitably I've got some in my pocket. Ideally I can actually stay in bed, not even get out of it, and just shoot out my window, again ideally. Preferably, to be honest, I would like to be sucked into some short of matrix where everything has been programmed to replicate the actual world...except (and this is the best part) everything has been modified to be an airgun. Wake up and want to eat a banana? The Matrix has made it look like an Evol. You want to ride in your car to work? Happens that your car looks like a Galahad! Then, only then, can you get just enough accolades for airgunning consistently.

2) Never! I use my trusty tank from AoA to fill up. I've used compressors before, but the cost analysis and hassle seems to outweigh the pros for me. I think eventually the tech will get more reliable, but sadly I am extremely rough on my tools. Now if it were a Matrix compressor though....

I fill my SCBAs every six weeks or so with my current HPA compressor (Hatsan Lightning)
My next high end, PCP related purchase will be a lifetime HPA compressor. Saving my dollars towards that end.

2 Use my compressor to fill a 60min scba once a Month or so.

1. I shoot almost every day. Sometimes its just 10 shots at 50 ft in my basement. Otherwise its 25-50 yards on my property. Occasionally its 100 yards at the shooting range.
2. I use my compressor approximately once per week to fill a 9L SCBA tank

1. As close to all the time as I can manage, depending on how busy life gets. I'm either shooting or thinking and reading about shooting.

2. Currently I fill my 3 300bar scba tanks (4.7, 6.8 and 9l) around once a month with my Paramina Mistral. It's an excellent Greek made diving compressor that seems pretty much unknown in the states - similar rpm and fill rates to an Alkin.

#2 The compressor (Benjamin spark) is my only fill source, two three times per week.

Every day, fill bottle daily. Use portable kinda cyclic. Take a notion
And use it to fill guns for a day @ range

I shoot a few times a week but those tend to be a couple hour sessions. I also like to shoot .30 caliber so I use a lot of air especially shooting slugs at higher power. Although I can get 6 magazines a fill from the Guantlet 30 with the hammer spring turned down, works great for pellets.

My Omega Trail Charger has been a work horse... on these frequent occasions I'm often topping off 4500 psi bottle guns probably an average around 5 times.

3-4 sessions per week around the house, 1-2 range outings per month. All pellet shooters, in descending order: HW44 .177; 10m target pistol and/or rifle; HFT gun at 18fpe; .25 at ~ 40 fpe for rodent control.

Pay the Dive shop $5 for a refill every month or so
