Poor man's tethering regulator.

With me being the poor man. LOL! I came up with a trick (Im sure others have figured this out also) when bench shooting tethered to the air bottle I leave the hose connected to the gun and just open the valve as needed to top off the gun. I don't bleed the hose during my shooting session. This saves the air that would be lost otherwise. I have found that I can watch the gauge on my Tiger Shark tank and when the pressure gets down to 2,200 psi I know its time to top the gun off. Much less expensive than a high quality regulator. In fact so easy that I don't think I will ever need one. My guns have regs so the shot strings should remain consistent. Anyone have thoughts on this technique?

I have done the same thing 30cal. What is best is when the tank's pressure drops to the guns max fill pressure. When this happens, I open the valve and leave it open and shoot my heart out without having to top up for an eternity. Also, the constant stable pressure is priceless.

I'm curious, would anyone be interested in buying a $195 inline adjustable regulator that attaches between the DIN valve on the tank and the fill hose?
