My friend got 3 tins of barracudas, and shooting the first one was as usual nice for him, but trying to shoot pretty much any pellet in the following 2 tins was soon abandoned.

The pellets have a sharp dimple on the top of the dome, and can also have sharp edges elsewhere.

So i i took a bunch and sorted them, and not a single one of them was perfect and only a few was not as bad as the bad ones.

The batch.

I shoot 99% of my guns with H&N FTT. I Try to buy bulk at least 30 plus tins at a time to get the same lot batch. Taking advantage of every 4th tin free. From Pyramid .. I’ve had new batch numbers be not so good and a re sight in is needed. I’ve not had them not be accurate and I’m sure weight wise they can vary from 14.5 to 14.7 for a 14.66 pellet.
for me it usually don’t cause accuracy issues unless the 4.53 are tiny .. I like tight fitting pellets . A good barrel makes A great gun.

Anytime I buy barracudas in .177 I got for the barracuda powers. They're copper coated, but they shoot straigher than the normal cudas.

I've had a problem with Crosman 177 10.5 grain pellets being very inconsistent in head size and shooting poorly (after a good tin) but I've never had a problem with H&N pellets shooting poorly in a gun that previously liked them. When I can I use the Baracuda Match or FT pellets, however. They cost a little more but are more consistent in weight and head size. But my Caiman really likes the Baracuda 18s (better than other 18 grain pellets or any other pellet I've tried in it) and all the tins I've purchased have shot well. I find H&Ns to be more consistent in weight than JSBs but I have a couple guns that prefer JSB made pellets and I have not had a tin shoot poorly in those either. Sorry to hear your experience is not so good.

Lower powered guns 15 ft lbs and under the jsb shoot well .. Abouve that the skirts are to soft and blow out. At least my experience.

The batch number would be very helpful.
