When there are no pests to shoot my go to ,,potatoes,highly recommend trying cheap to buy or grow and super fun. Not very reactive with pellets but if you shoot hollow point slugs they vaporize and the impact pop is much louder than my gun firing. I know it I'm hooked now lol. Surprisingly my .22 cal does the same with varmit knockers slugs.

That's not very surprising to me given just how big the xlhp are on those VK you could spill the insides of any small critter with those slugs

Yessir! Specially the .177, they have thin walls, which I don't mind, makes my pesting job easier albeit dirtier

As a kid , about 3 miles from my house there was a potato processing (wash and bag ) plant . lets just say you knew when you were close and down wind from it
