I'm hoping this can become a sticky so we can compile a list of brands and colors of powder coat that work well. When I started powder coating I was frustrated by the results, and while I still have some that don't look good, my percentage is much better. Please also list if the powder is a TGIC or "plain" polyester (or unknown). TGIC is more durable but doesn't seem to flow as well as the plain polyester. I have three more Eastwood to test, and need to get the correct info for the Red from Smoke before I post details. Eastwood Red Wagon, Maroon, and Leland Cady Blue are up for testing when time and casting permit.
If you use a process different from shake n bake, please note that process. Pictures might be useful if you have them.
To start (more to test soon):
Eastwood Hotcoat Mirror Red polyester - works great, flows out to perfection and easy to get good coverage before the oven.
Eastwood Hotcoat Bright Yellow TGIC poly - not good, very splotchy every time I have tried it (not giving up yet)
Eastwood Hotcoat Lime Green TGIC poly - works very well when ammo is clean and heated to a warm temperature before shaking
