RTI Power of .30cal RTI Prophet (1 and 2) with Compact Barrel

1️⃣
I have been wondering what the power output is like for the RTI Prophets in .30cal --
with compact barrels:

● .30cal Prophet 1 Compact: 400mm
● .30cal Prophet 2 Compact: 500mm

What power? At what regulator setting? What projectile?

How would adding one plenum -- or two plenums -- help or hinder power and loudness?

2️⃣
Have you used a new P2/P3 .30cal barrel (one with the double transfer ports) on a P1? How did that go?

3️⃣
Have your used an older P1 .30cal barrel (with the regular ports) on a P2? How did that go?

Thanks for any input! 😊

This is with a P2:

Older RTI LW 600mm round port

JTS pellet= 116b@896fps 120b@908fps 125b@920fps
FX Hybrid= 125b@886fps 130b@910fps

500mm FX barrel with round port

FX Hybrid= 125b@865fps

600mm FX barrel round port

FX Hybrid= 115b@900fps 124b@920fps 145b@960fps

No extra plenums. Tried everything with the 500mm to reduce noise. I used longer shrouds with baffles and other stuff but the accuracy didn’t like it. With a .30 and the amount of air being moved, with a 500mm it liked a short shroud with minimal air gap and a big mod. But it was still horrible when compared to either 600mm barrel. Both 600’s just did everything better in .30 and sound way better.

I have the longer barrel and have it shooting JSB 50.15g pellets at and average of 865fps (83.6 ft lbs) and my register is set to ~145 bar. Grouping is excellent at both 25 and 50 yards. 100 yards is also very good, but unfortunately the shooter comes more into play than the gun! I am using the STO Falx high flow moderator and it is very quiet... definitely the quietest .30 that I own. Since mine is a P-3, there will be some differences due to the updated balanced valve, but the numbers should not be far off for the pellets. I will get some numbers for the slugs this weekend.

Hey Paul, did you get your valve sorted out?

Yes - the 12 x1.5mm o-ring inside the block that goes around the the valve seat (part #71) was gone! Rok helped me through everything. No better customer service in my book! He went above and beyond the call of duty! And boy do I know how that valve works now! You can see where it goes if you watch Gregor's YouTube video on the P-3 balanced valve video where he has the block cutaway. Probably the hardest o-ring to get anywhere... especially if your old, blind and feeble like I am!😬

After this effort, my next high-power air rifle (yes we always need one more...) will probably be the RTI Mora! Swapping barrels and adjusting the pressure on the P-3 is really easy compared to the other guns I have. It's been an extremely consistant shooter which scores high in my book.
