So one liner plus 3 others trying to find the best one? Different liners or the same pellet or slug liner? If it is the same, do you recommend buying 3 or 4 liners to test, keep the best performing and return the others? I’m not that familiar with STX and thought they were all the same due to tighter manufacturing processes. I guess just like any other barrel, some are measurably better than others... Thanks!
Gotcha, so a “barrel lottery” just like all other manufacturers. Thanks Ernest.![]()
True. I’ve never had a non shooter CZ barrel. But all barrels, even FX STX, some are better than others. Ernest just confirmed that above.![]()

Finished making a new valve tonight for my Vet. Used some of that Ketron PEEK and 6AL-4V Ti for this pin, overall it weights 1.60 grams.

I'm pretty sure that Ed from EDGun could run it over with his Land Cruiser and it would stay in tact lol. I have two more that I need to make more pins for to test out. One will have a 2mm O.D. where it's exposed in the valve housing for theoretically better airflow like the diagram that was posted earlier in this thread (I'm also going to test some new valve housing designs soon).
If anything, I can sleep better now that I have a beefier replacement valve (especially for testing higher pressures / larger valve porting).
Keep in mind that ti has a higher friction rate.
It is complicated to get a perminent miror shine on it, pretty soon there will be brass residu on the stem.
Reducing stem diameter wil give instability in the metal structure of the stem, I would be careful with it.
Regards, Robert.

He's talking about reducing the OD for flow. This is the area of the VS that has no bearing surface. I'm sure he's being careful but it's his PCP to play with.
