Power---POWer---POWER

The 2A does not say the right to a PB.

...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

If you are not a member of a 2A rights group, please join at least one. GOA would be my first choice. Again we the people are the sovereign of this nation. That is an extremely important part of our nations history and key to our freedoms.

ANY government that wants to disarm the citizens is an extremely dangerous government.

Just an FYI here.

Greed for power might so us in!

Never mind the greed for more power... how many jobs got outsourced to foreign nations, in order to increase profit for shareholders?

Like so many things in life, just follow the $$ and you'll get your answers

100%, corporate greed is beyond despicable but they also have the best politician money can buy. Sadly as someone has already mentioned Airguns don’t have NRA or anyone to buy off I mean lobby the swamp people. Let’s not go down the rabbit hole of politics here.

Biden and his crew get their way we won’t have any guns, pellet guns I would imagine will be last to go.

I disagree. Airguns may be the first to go (at least the full-auto, semi-auto, high FPE, and high caliber ones). Powder burners get millions and millions of dollars worth of lobbying thrown at the legislators each year from numerous groups protecting 2A rights. Airguns don't have that bargaining power. Airguns have next to zero in terms of political advocacy. The big 2A advocates don't give a rat's ass about airguns, and would probably even use legislation on them as a concession when trying to further protect the powder burners.

You make both good and valid points here.

I agree that airguns may face strict regulation before powders. However, I do still believe that our sport has to be acknowledged first. A LOT of the general public still don’t realize that there are $200+ adult airguns out there.

It still comes down to a large enough issue to gain national attention.

There have been members on this site and other forums who make posts which raise my brows.. It is them and others which may bring negative attention to us.

One errant shot which misses a backyard target hurting someone will do it. To all of you shooting at home with power over 12 ft lbs or so, please think thrice.

Hoarding of anything isn’t a healthy habit.

What is "hoarding" ?

- Obesity kills thousands of people each year... Maybe we need to impose a limit on how many burger and pizza you can have?

- Drinking & driving kills thousands of people each year... Maybe we need to impose a limit on how many beers and liter of fuel you can buy?

-*-*-*-

Or we could focus our energy trying to help vulnerable individuals... You know, helping kids get away from drugs and gangs...

I’ll just chime in and say that there are certain trends in air guns I find disturbing. The whole point of air guns for most people is a precision tool with far less dangerous potential than a firearm. I think that as soon as you start sneaking up on 1/2 the power of a rimfire it’s time to step back and take a break.

I couldn’t have stated your response any better.

It seems that “we” are “all” making the industry push limits to make their products closer and closer to resemble powder burners both in power and appearance, not to forget to mention utility.

I got my first airgun for my 6th birthday. It was a carbine pumper, not a .35 Impact or Evanix .45 semi.

Limits and regs are not necessarily a bad thing. They can actually be good keeping everything in check.

With regards to excess, unless we all live on our own planet with unlimited sustainability, imposing limits is a good thing.

The “all you can eat” mindset should be an “all you should eat” mindset. We all can use a re-boot by thinking differently and making a paradigm shift away from a norm, or habit. Expanding your thinking will open you up to more possibilities and therefore will free your mind of what you believe you “need”.

Hell, I am guilty of playing into human habit and dependence. Why do something just because you can? Instead, think of who/what will this impact, what benefit will this give me/us? What detriment will unfold if I do this or continue to do so? And, why stop there? Think about these questions routinely whenever you do anything. What’s the worst that can happen by doing this? At least you will keep your mind sharp and ticking along.

Couldn't agree more.

What bugs me is when people with (probably) and agenda try to push rules and regulations that cannot possibly achieve the goals they were created for.

  • In most cases, the new rules will be brought about, instead of holding people accountable for their actions.
