Help! Breech Block Loose – Now It Barks!





That's pretty much it.



After shooting it for a few thousand times this silent pigeon killer started barking, even with a Sumo.



So, I take it that the breech block got loose (tissue flies off).



I'm not the crack mechanic like many of you. I have been able to take apart the barrel, the air tube, regulator, and handle, adjust those parts, and got it to work again. But I've never been into the breech block – seems more complicated.

What do I need to do to fix the loose breech block?







I'd be very thankful for any help you could give me! (The pigeons will NOT show any thanks toward you, I'm afraid).

Hope this will help you. Some people claim that they can replace the breach oring without taking anything apart but I have never been able to. The best way I have done it is by degasing the gun remove the grip pull the hammer back then you can lossen the valve enough to pull the breach back and fit in the new oring.

I would replace your breech oring first

I remove the breech oring after taking the grip off to swing the block more open. I use a fine tipped metal tool like a dental pick to get under the oring without gouging any metal and pulling out. Lube new oring and install with the aid of something flat and not metal like a wood Popsicle stick to help press oring under block into place.

Try that first

Does the block swing easily back and forth? If so your valve probably worked a little loose with the opening and closing of the block. There is a tiny set screw on the right of the receiver that keeps the valve from loosening. Check for tightness there and if loos you can give the valve a quarter turn with a set of lockring pliers then tighten the set screw to lock the valve.

Snap ring pliers work well for adjusting the valve. 4 holes already present and you can use those to tighten the valve.
