PP750 new scope mount + accuracy?

Hello --

The price was affordable for an Optima 4x32 AO with illumination, 53$ I think (big river). With the included mounts, eye relief was the issue as we know. I wanted a compact scope. Ordered up a 3" BKL single piece mount, swapped that in yesterday. Eye relief is much improved. As well, could get rid of that shroud band dovetail, which I have come to distrust a bit.

So, is this scope as good as it seems to be? Seems sharp, and holds zero, what am I missing? Pretty much everything I point it at is dead in as much time as it takes to pull the trigger. What gives?

This PP750 is pretty accurate, WHEN IT WANTS TO BE. And that is the suspected rub, knowing that I have a decent scope, and previously a good red dot. I get random, 2 inch @ 25yd, POI shifts out of the gun.

I am thinking I am pranging the shroud somehow in spite of being extra careful. I do know that removing and replacing the same suppressor definitely causes loss of zero with this gun.

Anyone else suffering similar "random" POI shifts with the PP750?

Mark

Does it gave fliers even when you single load?

Their magazines suck.

I have to single load Hades cause of the flatter heads (not mag friendly), and they stack 1" groups at 20 yards from seated pos. The 15.89 diabolos through the mag are not as consistently accurate but lethal, on birds on a wire, and the occasional piglet. When the POI does go off, it is then grouping on that new POI. It is always a major POI shift, at least 2 inches, and seemingly only in the elevation, with only minor windage adjustment to get back on target. Wierd, yeah?

Hoping removal of the shroud band dovetail will remedy this, but will take few days to see.

Their magazines suck.

Out of box yes, the entire pistol sucks, but with a little elbow greasing we can make it work as supposto.

I toke the mags apart as well and deburred/polished the internal edges around the holes, the part is an aluminum casting they just spray paint it out of the machine.

Woila, now the mags suddenly work...

Given the ammo I am using, what I have the most of, and shooting my way through, are the JSB 15.89 diabolos. They feed fine through the mag so far without any care given to the mag itself. Occasionally there are hangs which I know/feel is just deforming/scraping the head. Skirt wise I don't see any damage. I noticed on the small amount of 14.35s I was shooting that the skirts were much thinner, so decided upon the heavier pellet. Mag v. tray loading, yeah...so far no difference for what I am doing with this pistol.

Yeah I am liking the idea of the aluminum magazines since I discovered that while back. (Kinda new here, so see lotta new stuff)

Having mounted the single-piece BKL rings other day, this is the first morning that I have not had my dreaded POI shift. First round hit the spoon at 25 yds. So, yeah, thinking the two-piece rings and the shroud band dovetail could have been the issue. Shall see over the next few days.

Four columbid take today. Not bad given was rainy most of day.
