NSA 290gr in the .457 is a good place to start. 350gr boat tail .457 NSA is a beast out of the Texan. There’s several on the NSA website that perform pretty well and you can look at the reviews of each slug.
He is not taking orders right now to my understanding as he is in the middle of moving his business across the country.
I have also had good results with the Hi-Kal brand. Made in USA. (I’m assuming they are still in business, I’ve not ordered any in over a year) These are probably the best packaged 457 slugs for the Texan available that I’ve ever seen. These are accurate, and you can get about 5 or 6 really decent shots on a fill, (I get about 3 good shots with the 290 gr NSA slugs at 100 yds per fill) but you don’t get super deep penetration with these lighter Hi-Kal slugs like with heavier NSA slugs. Sometimes you don’t need that much inertia anyway, say for groundhogs or coyotes or such. Soft tissue only, it passes through a deer, but it doesn’t pass all the way through if you hit the shoulder bone. (Your mileage may vary) Great ammo nonetheless. You’ll definitely want to save the slug tray to re-use for any other slugs you’ll have laying around for the Texan.

And last and certainly least is the Air Venturi .457 slugs that are pure garbage. Every time I’ve bought them they have looked like they’ve been dragged across 100 miles of bad road and they aren’t accurate and they penetrate TOO much for hunting with pretty much no deformation. I’ve had the 411grain slugs pass through big tree stumps and just keep right on going. They will find any rock that’s buried in a berm or backstop and ricochet a lot. If you just want something to shoot at nothing in particular with, don’t care where it stops and just want to make noise with, then there ya go. Air Venturi .457 slugs have you covered.
These are my just my opinions based on my experience, but you’ll probably get 50 guys telling you the opposite. 49 of them won’t even own a Texan and the other guy hasn’t tried the Hi-Kal slugs yet, so don’t listen to him.

I'm looking for .457 molds for a AEA 45 cal challenger that's coming next month hopefully, not a whole lot of molds in 457 , 452 and 454 lots of options, when the gun actually gets here and I can verify the bore size I'll probably buy a NOE mold, there's some slugs available on ebay and I've ordered two different weights 50 and 40 count packages, not cheap, casting your own is the way to go with big bores.
