Uglyjohn,
I would contact Greg Sauve, the USA representative for WFTF, and find out if this is even a feasible option. WFTF rules state that whoever is going to run a WFTF World Championship, MUST use targets that have been approved by the WFTF board. I believe that there are only two manufacturers that have WFTF approval.
Pete Brooks is an outstanding shooter, and engineer for mechanical stuff, particularly with our sport in mind. I've shot with him many times, and his attention to detail is second to none. There is no doubt in my mind, that if you needed to find a better mousetrap to be created, Pete's the guy.
That being said, I think this needs to be inquired about upon the international level. Even if Pete's design is the best performing Field Target that one can find, it still needs WFTF approval. It would be a shame for everyone, especially Pete, to go through the expense and time to create a perfect Field Target, and many of them at that, only not to be approved by the WFTF in the long run.
Just a thought before everyone gets into gear making these targets.
