I kept looking at Leupold 2-7x33 scopes. $300 isn't all that bad, but no point in spending if you don't need to. Found this Tasco scope, made in japan. 3-9x32. Wish I'd weighed it. It is shockingly light weight. High gloss finish and a little older styling looks about perfect on this gun. Think I'm in it for less than $70. Fine, traditional duplex. Pretty much exactly what I wanted.
