I am the original owner. Purchased in 1988 and used for pest control in the back yard. Eventually went the PCP route with an FX royale 400 so the Diana went into the closet since 2011. Rifle shoots as well as it did when purchased.
I was not a fan of the original somewhat light stain and dull finish as it did not show the beautiful grain of the walnut so I stripped the stock and refinished with a dark Minwax stain called Jacobean, with a polyurethane clear gloss applied for lustre and protection.
There are some nicks and chips here and there in the clear finish, especially on the bottom in front of the butt pad, but the actual wood is undamaged.
I have no doubt that a wet sanding of the stock and a reapplication of Minwax clear poly will make the stock look like new if one cares to make the effort.
Bluing is good. No rust feckling.
There are some nicks here and there on the barrel from normal use, but nothing excessive.

The rifle has the original iron sights, which I stored safely while a scope was attached.
