Price Gouging

So I started the topic asking where the Crosman discount code had gone to. The explanation from Crosman is that someone bought almost $70,000 worth of products with the discount code, and then resold it all for a profit.

I've also read many posts asking where all the ammo has gone to. Sure enough, a quick search of Amazon.com answers at least part of the question.

When JSB 22 cal is available for 2 minutes before it is 'sold out' on several websites like Pyramid Air, and the price is a normal $18.99, I often kick myself for not getting in on the 'deal' sooner.

Get this. On Amazon today, you can buy all the JSB 22 cal, 15.89 grain dome pellets you want. No limit. That's great news. Except for one thing. They are selling them for $39.95 for a tin of 500. Yep. Marked up from $18.99 to $39.95.

Look, I understand it's supply and demand, and we live in a free society and all that crap. But give me a break.

First some SOB takes full advantage of the best discount there is for Crosman Benjamin products, and now anytime pellets are available, someone's scarfing up probably hundreds of tins, so they can resell them t more than double the cost.

I'm so sick of all this BS.

That is very greasy, only takes a few to ruin things for everyone.

I just checked E Bay for fun.

Prices are worse than Amazon.

Probably the same people that made a fortune selling Beanie Babies until the bottom fell out of the market and they were stuck with worthless junk. :)

I really hate to say it, but it kills me to read topics where someone says they have more pellets than they will ever use in a lifetime, or you watch a youtube video where the backdrop behind the guy is a 8' x 10' wall with nothing but tins of pellets stacked up.

I have to agree with someone that commented the other day that the run of the mill Crosman pellets might be a little bit 'off' on accuracy but if you're shooting for fun at 30 yards, who cares, right?

Ugh, I appreciate being part of this forum and being able to whine like a baby a little bit. I feel better now. :)

What a bunch of scumbags 😠

Be nice if Crossman would put the discount back on and maybe put a limit of some type on the use of it. One order a month with sale limit, something like that.

JPW

Yes, it would be great if they could continue the discount with limitations. One order a month as you suggest, and maximum order value of $1,500. Or like some other places do, a maximum discount of something like $200, regardless of how much you buy.

We ran across one of these folks the other day in the local Wally World. I found 4 tins of CPHP on the shelf and picked them up since I couldn't find them any more. A guy walked up and commented about no 22 on the shelf, then took what was probably 50 tins of 177 off the shelf and asked why I thought I needed 4 tins of 22. I was almost ready to offer two to him before he swiped all the 177, but I shoot mine.

Sporting goods clerk showed up, with manager and security close behind. They escorted the guy out and seemed grateful a total scene didn't come out of the situation. I guess there was a history there, Dunno. I'm good on 22 for a year, and only got that many because I normally can't find them, and $6.xx in the store while $26.xx+ on places like Amazon, I haven't checked Ebay. By the time I'm shopping again "something" will have happened, probably, and we can readjust from there.

Hopefully no one gets desperate enough to pay those prices. If no one buys them, the prices will have to drop, or they'll be sitting on a boatload of pellets. Not taking sides, but Crosman put a price on the merchandise and was willing to give a discount. Someone decided to take advantage of the short supply situation and bought a ton of stuff. There's not much Crosman can do unless they put limits on items and/or refuse sales to dealers and resellers. We, as consumers, can fight this by not paying the inflated prices. If no one buys them, or the supply situation suddenly reverses, these guys will have to lower the prices or they'll be sitting on a ton of merchandise.

I went on Amazon to check it out and found the Amazon seller's name is: Profline.

Detailed seller info is: Bezway LLC out of Wyoming.

Interesting array of gun/outdoor related products at higher than normal prices.

Btw, you can get a 2 pack of the JSB 16g for ONLY $56.00 and a 4 pack for ONLY $104.00! 😂

But I guess if you REALLY REALLY REALLY gotta have'um.....

Man,. that really sucks. :(

In general, and personal timing. I had an Akela in my cart just a few days ago, and decided to hold off. Now no discount. This was a seriously nice perk I never had a chance to act on. So sad that they ruined it for everyone.
