Price to fill an air tank.

Just curious to see how much it costs to follow a tank. I will be needing to purchase a compressor sometime . There isn't much access to HPA in the area and was wanting to know what the price is to fill a tank. Just trying to justify an Alkin.

For me at least, $15. Finally found a fire equipment sales and service center not too far away that does hydro testing and fills, plus takes care of tanks for the paint ballers in the area.

My sort of local dive shop gets $8 for a 3300 psi scuba tank and $14 for a 4500 psi SCBA tank. It's a pain as the drive to the shop is about 40 minutes each way so I usually piggy back fills when I need to do something else in that area.

I used to pay $11 USD per fill. But once I factored the time it took to drive there and back? Plus the cost of my time? The actual cost was at least $70 per fill. I also want an Alkin, when my Hatsan Lightning finally dies I’ll buy one. My Lightning has paid for itself twice over so I am still happy with it.

I have a couple dive shops that are 5 and 10 minutes away from me. They both charge $3.50 a fill either from 0-4500 PSI or 3000-4500 PSI.

I have 28 rifles, only 2 are PCP's and they only get used for pesting. If I shot PCP's exclusively like many here do, then yeah, I'd spring for a compressor.

This is true. It's one of the advantages of living in dive paradise. I also cascade fill so they last me a while.

In 2015 I spent $2800 to fill my Great White tank. Bought an Airetex 45 (Alkin). It now has 25 hours on it which works out to approx. 125 fills from 3k to 45k. And I would guess the compressor is still worth nearly its purchase price. It produces breathing quality air and I have not spent anything on it except the cost of electricity to run it.

this sounds the most realistic to me, figure in fuel and time and yeah, the yong heng more than pays for itself after 20-30 fills .. plus your not dealing with some potential smug ahole ruining your peaceful day lol ...

Scuba shop...WAY inland (SoCal) than normal dive shops.
$12 to the full 300bar / 4500 psi.

Sometimes done while I wait, most times, pick up the next day.

if I go from 3500 to 4500 it is $10 as well.
