Tuning Problem filling Brocock Bantam Sniper HR

After not having used the Bantam Sniper HR for a long time because of health reasons I found the gun did not loose any air pressure. Thats the good part. I took it out and shot it until it was just about to go below the 140 regulator setting. I refilled it from my tank but it did not take a complete fill. I shot it again and took it down until it was off the regulator but it would not take any air at all after that. I took the pressure down to zero and it would still not take any air. Any idea what is going on here?

Thanks

Thank for replies,

I guess I did not explain well enough. My charging tank is fully charged at 4500 psi. I connect to fill port on gun and needle on charging bottle/tank jump to 200 bar like gun is full but it has no air in it.

The gun is not taking any air. I have not tried a hand pump, going for cervical surgery tomorrow and do not want to even try.

If your fill station gauge is "jumping" right to 200bar in a matters of seconds then the check valve on the foster on the gun tank is stuck.

This thread should provide you with some help

You have a bad fill valve. Unfortunately it’s a problem common to these guns. My Sniper XR had the same issue after about 300 pellets. Easy fix though, you can find a replacement 1/8 bspp hex foster fill valve on Amazon. Unscrew the factory valve with some needle-nose pliers and put on the new one. That’s what I did and it still holds air 100% after six months.

How is it a “common issue with the Bantam?” I’ve read less than “six” complaints about it here on AGN. “Common issues” heck have you read some of the FX posts? Those are examples of “common issues”...

Thanks again everyone. After reading the posts here and following the link to another thread, I went to the gun cocked it left the probe open and the gun took air all the way full. Not sure what really happen....

I am going to buy a new fill assembly and ring set to have as backup in case this happens again.

Getting ready to head out for spinal surgery, so two weeks before I shoot again.

Happy shooting,

Update and a good one. Emailed AOA and explained the problem with the fill valve on my Bantam Sniper HR. The AOA service department got back to me and said Brocock have designed a new fill inlet valve and will send it to me free. I also enquired about a Inlet Valve Removal Tool and they told me they would send that free as well.

Feeling good about this, hope it helps others.

Will do, I have included the instruction sheet they sent today.

Sounds like the folks at AOA have taken good care of you. It's always good to hear reports of quality customer service, especially during a time when phone calls and emails often go unanswered. I know the pandemic world has placed a huge strain on everyone, but responding to customers who have already spent their money should be a top priority.
