Not in my experience. I've installed dozens. They usually have a good fit after 200 shots and a couple of days. It's usually a combination of time and shot cycles. I've tried all the readily available options and the Vortek while fitting tighter than most even after break in still make more power than the other's. Most of the others have to be looser to make the same power because they use a parachute design. They use compression for sealing. Statically they have to be looser because compression forces the lip outwards to seal. This adds dynamic drag that usually exceeds the tight feeling Vortek.

There are times parachute seals are better than the Vortek. Typically that's when the compression tube is out of round or tapered. A parachute seal is more forgiving of irregularities because it's shape is more pliable thanks to the thin flexible lip and compression pressure.
I use parachute seals on gun that are out of round or tapered. They're the best option for that. The pita part is they often have to be sized which can take over hour to do properly.

I'm specifically talking about Weihrauchs. I know nothing of other brands.
