I have shot Crosman boxed premiers in my Prod since day one. It always shot them good enough for the guns intended purpose. This gun has never been super accurate, but again, it got the job done.

I pulled the scope off of it to put on another gun so I bought a 3x9 bugbuster for the Prod. I noticed I had a couple of tins of polymags and decided to use them. Wow!!

Not benchrest accuracy, but much better than it shoots crosmans. 8 shots (1 mag) at 30 yards Plus it got a raccoon kill last night!!




 
Same results as yours with the boxed premiers. It's within Minute Of Marmot for 40 yards. I will give the polymags a try. Mine shoots the the metalmags decent but I have had some tip separation on a few. The pointy metal tip snags somewhere, you then get 2 flier holes. One from the pellet and another pin hole from the tip.

I have always kept a large stock of boxed premiers in both .177 and .22. For my plinkers and close range pest guns, I just stick with them if the gun shoots them decent. Polymags have always shot well for me in nearly every gun I have shot them in from .177 to .30. Guess it wasn't a surprise they shoot good out of the Prod, but still very happy with the results.

I also heard the POP with my Marauder with the 25cal pellets ?
Do you guys hear it to ?
Sparrows and euro doves are 99.8 % of my pest.

The sound of the pellet hitting the target animal I would assume.

I think they have there own distinct sound on impact. The raccoon I shot the other night made a really nice "pop"!!

DairyboyExcellent results! I've had not so good luck with them out if my .177 disco and .22 Mrod with hammer forged barrel WAY too many fliers. Now my .25 WARP and .30 Mrod is a different story where the polymags out to 50 yds are on par with JSBs.

I have had similar results. Seems they tend to shoot really good upto 50-60 yards then accuracy falls compared to JSB'S.

Just got done trying out the polymags in my prod. Have light winds gusts around 10 mph.


I figure from what I got from my groups, I will have to say the polymags are 30 yard pellet and max 35 yards for my prod. 20 and 25 yard groups are with three shots and 30 to 40 yard groups are 5 shots. The cool part I found out when I did my test is my zero for the polymags will be 30 yards while the prod is sighted in at 20 yards for CHP.

My HF barrel will shoot poly mags and h/n hunters very well out to 35yards the polymags are a little more better out to 50y. I use them for ratting, anything else it's jsb 18g. The poly mag shorts are the ones, long don't shoot all that great in the mrod
