Prod with DonnyFL Sumo question

Actually a Sumo is way overkill for a Prod. You should have just spent 1/4 the money on a Rocker1 shroud extension, been able to keep your fill cap on and not have something giant hanging on the end of such a nice small gun. A Prod is not a loud gun to begin with. My solution is to not have the problem to begin with. Filling your gun with that Sumo will get old real quick because the Prod is so fun to shoot, doesn't have a high shot count so therefore you fill it a lot.

Sorry, you will have to take the can and cap off every time you fill it. Low shot count is a myth. I get 30 shots from a 3000 to 1400, and that's on a 68cc tank (4 cubic inches). I adjusted the trigger to my liking, put one of Donny's cans on it and a cheek rest. Did not play with the hammer throw or hammer spring at all. I think you'll leave the Sumo on the gun. Super quiet, only thing you hear is the ping from the air tube. Fun gun to shoot that is for sure.

I’ve had the Sumo on my Woods Walker for about a year. The process of charging it up...removing the Sumo, removing the cap, hooking up the charging connection and charging, reinstalling the cap and Sumo is not a inconvenience to me. Takes about 5 - 10 seconds from the evolution for removal and reinstallation of the LDC. Never noticed any POI shifts or clipping due to the removal and reinstallation of the LDC. Just my 2 cents.

I put a 90 degree male to female fitting on mine. Get the fitting at home improvement store. SLOWLY take off the fill probe use thread sealer or tape on new fitting, screw it on to where the fill probe was ending up where the female end of the fitting facing down. Then screw the probe on where it is also pointing down. Oh yea, you have to remove the barrel shroud first so you will have clearance to put the new fitting on. I don’t think the sumo is overkill, I love how much quieter mine is. Perfect when extra quiet is needed.

You’re gonna laugh, the cheek rest is made from a scrub brush handle from Ace Hardware, cut it to the length I wanted, then drilled and tapped the bolts after cutting off the head. A little tough centering everything up, by I got it. Now I know that the Hawk Vantage 4x12 is a little overkill and a bit large for this rifle but I had it laying around and it’s turned this little rifle into a tack driver. Just a little friendly advice, you’re not going to be happy with that centerpoint scope that comes with it or the dot sight that also comes with it. They might work for you, but for me, no

Try the centerpoint scope and the dot sight that comes with it, it might work for you just fine. When I looked through the cp scope there was no comparison to the Hawke that I had on hand. Should be a pretty good rat getter, I found it to be a little anemic for ground squirrels unless you hit em in the head, plus it drops off in energy 40-50 yards out where a lot of my shots at ground squirrels are. My .25 marauder is just the ticket for those shots. Good Luck with your P-Rod you’re going to have a lot of fun with it!

I also went with the .25 sumo on mine. I don't find it to be too much trouble. I am getting four full mags before refilling.

The one big downfall to the prod is the stock length. I found it awkward, so I trimmed off about an inch and a half and it is very comfortable now. My cheek rest was made of 1" foam rubber wrapped with black electrical tape to match the gun.

I picked up a utg bipod off Amazon that has a pic rail adapter with a sling swivel attached. Very nice setup.

Shop around for a good price. This is the best price I found when I bought mine from them $329.95 ( Joe Bob Outfitters) Great people to deal with. Make sure you sign up for their mailing list first so you get the coupon code for a free t-shirt when you spend over $150. I didn't know about the t-shirt deal until after I ordered the gun. E-mailed them right away, the owner responded with "no problem Mike, I got you covered"

I got mine last night! I put the DonnyFL SUMO on it and pumped it up with a $50 floor pump, and it is super quiet! I got a used Woods Walker off EBay for $400. It came with a Hill DePinger, #45 spring, and a bigger inlet valve. The red dot scope it came with doesn’t look to good.
There’s one on EBay now for $350 that comes with lots of extras. Good luck!
