Proper Way To Ship A Carbon Fiber Tank

I have a Joe Brancato Tiger Shark carbon fiber air tank that I have used only a couple of times to fill my PCP air rifles. I have only used it a couple of times and will be listing it for sale in the Classified section of this web site soon. I'm liquidating my air rifle and accessories inventory. Health issues have forced me into this position.

My question: Once the tank is sold, what precautions do I need to take to properly and safely ship it to the new owner?

I'm sure you've seen videos of baggage handlers at the airport showing how they throw, kick, drag, etc people's luggage around. ALL shippers ( UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc ) are even worse cuz our packages are smaller and much easier to abuse. It's us against their abusive handling.

You don't want things like this to happen to whatever you're shipping :(

In addition to what’s already been said, also consider putting something over the valve to take the impact of it being dropped vertically from chest high directly onto the valve. Because based on what I’ve witnessed, I’d be shocked if that DIDN’T happen at some point while in transit.
Agreed!! May even want to think about removing the valve for shipping for that very reason!!
