Not sure when my Prophet started pinging in the receiver. It wasn't doing it before but now I get a nasty ping after the shot cycle right below my ear. Tried a squished o-ring inside the hammer spring but it is not the hammer spring doing it. Not sure if it is the extra plenum when the air bounces around in there. It had a nice shot before but the ring is annoying and loud. Anyone else find a remedy for this?

My P1 prophet has never done it but my P1 compact sure has...( I added a plenum to it when I got it) It only does it when I set it up in 25 .. Once turned it's fine. I've never had it happen with the 177 and 22 barrels on it.
Maybe a bit of a tweek on your tune will do the trick.. springs take a set...o-rings, all that good stuff.

Yeah I have a new longer barrel and it started as a .22 compact. I tuned it for heavier pellets, 21s and 25s. Tried to tune it down for 18s again and it still does it. I have heard of depingers, just not sure where to try and put one on this setup.

maybe it can give you some ideas lol
if not the same scenario maybe Derrick ( zx10wall ) could help if you shoot him a pm. If remember correctly he used some rubber tubing that can be acquired at lowes or home depot .
If it is the spring you could possibly make a semi snug fitting spring guide out of peek or delrin material and insert it to counter / arrest the vibrations .

If I’m not running a hammer weight, I put a small piece of silicone tubing inside the spring to lessen the twang.

Weird…I don’t get any ping and I have a compact and also added the larger plenum. It’s a .22 tuned for 22gr JTS at 890fps.

Yeah I tried a squished oring inside the spring and still have a twang. I think it is coming from somewhere else.

Is it an acutal mechanical ping, or are you hearing the pinging sound from the check valve?
Mine has always had that, but it doesnt bother me, so I just keep shooting, but the check valve can be eliminated if it does bother you.

On my Prophet 1, the it pings until the tank pressure drops below regulated pressure, then it stops. Might be an easy test to do withough takeing the gun down.

I am going to squeeze the plenum while shooting and see of it is stops ringing. If that works, I may just find some silicon tubing to slip over it. I have a big tank on it and only hand pump so going below reg takes alot of shots.

My P1 had the ping from day one. It’s a .25 and was there with shooting 33.95’s at 950 or 25.39’s at 880. I removed the check valve and all is good now.

I think it is the reg. It didn't do it on the first shot but the ring is definately coming from the reg. I have a Huma bottle reg and the RTI adjustable, aka Impact style. The Huma is at 150 bar and the RTI at 120-130 bar.

The orrendous ping that P1 and old P2 have is due to the check valve (piece n° 56 if i remember well, check directly with RTI), now replaced by a steel ball compressed by a little spring. Check your gun, dismantle the old check valve and put the new one. Ask RTI to send it to you. If you need help with dismantling and replacing, knock on my door

I may just pull it completely since I am not changing bottles on the gun. Never really saw a need for it.

Pulled the check valve and now it is quiet. Just hoping I don't have a slow leak to track later. Thanks for the help getting this thing fixed
