Prophet handle?

Any one know what that thing is in the hollow handle of the Prophet, I have the Prophet II Compact but i remember it also was in my Standerd Prophet, Could it be a magazine holder?

First time I've heard the term "handle" for a guns "grip". I guess, by definition...

The stock grip was the first thing I changed out. Never even knew it had an insert like that.

I noticed it when I got my P2. I just "assumed" you could throw a handful of pellets/slugs in it if you needed to carry a few extras for a day in the field and didn't have extra mags.

I assume Rti didn’t make the grip. They just had it custom marked. It is a standard AR grip that will fit lots of different guns.

The insert is a battery holder to appeal to today’s tacticool light/laser/optics users.

I find the angle of an ar grip too much and change mine out for a 0-5 degree.

That makes since, The grip was made for RTI and RTI has no idea what the hell is in the grip LOL. I use the Luth-AR Chubby Grip from www.luth-ar.com Orion turned me on to the grip, Its got a flared base so you can carry the gun and it does not feel like its slipping out of your hand. And everyone needs to know to watch out for the little very little ball that will fall out from the safety when changing the grip...
I have heard the Prophet II does not have this problem, I have not changed my grip out on my II
