Prophet seems to shine at around 50 yrds. At 100 it doesn't show up as much as Fx guns in matches.

I was wondering that. Ive seen them place high in RMAC before but most slug users have FX guns. Tuning is fun but didnt want a gun that constantly needed tuning either.

You can throw a good slug barrel as any gun. Or remove the choke (if the barrel has no high or low spots). After that it's just dialing in harmonics and your actual projectile as well. But works better if you just get a barrel suited to your desired projectile. Not the other way around.

Maverick will shoot lighter slugs out of box and heavier slugs with the heavy liner with superb accuracy that has been proven again and again. If you want to shoot slugs a FX gun with heavy liner is as good as you can get out of box.

Hands down, my TJ barrels with 62-65.5gr slugs have been the best for me. I've hand loaded the Griffin 78gr RBTs (very accurate and probably the top-end for the 1:26" TJs), but I helped sponsor Orion Iguana Hunter's efforts some time ago to produce revised magazine lids that would seat the 62gr Varmint Knockers and 65.5gr (and the older 66gr) NSAs in the Maverick mags.
That ammo has been reliably accurate well over 200m in calmer / lighter wind conditions. They're all affected by wind drift being in the 0.13-0.142 range, but it's very manageable compared to all the lighter "off the shelf" slugs in the 40-55gr range (which all drift too hard for my taste).

FX Maverick is definitely the way to go the FX gun have so much more tunability vs other guns on the market
