Results PSA AAFTA Match Results - August 13, 2023

For our August matches, we try to design a unique course with a higher difficulty than we typically configure. The course difficulty was slightly higher than 31 Troyer difficulty. There were a variety of target presentations some were in a shaded and wooded settings, a few open field shots, and several uphill shots. Although, there were a few times we had a gust of wind, it was generally calm throughout the day.

As challenging as this course was to shoot, it was also demanding to setup and take down. I would like to thank everyone that helped with the setup or tear down efforts, it was greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone that made the trip out to Palmyra Sportsmens Assoc. we hope to see you all again at future FT events.

Great Event, Mike. Always nice to be in the shade! Hard to put in to words how awesome this course is and the kind of work that you put in to it. So I made this little video. Keep in mind that this course is never the same. Sometimes the same target placement, but never the same course.

This was probably the most difficult course I have shot in my 30+ years of shooting FT. Don't be fooled by Brian's "make it look easy score" and the 31 Troyer rating. There are some things that the Troyer rating does not take into consideration like overall terrain and what the firing point is like physically. No firing points were flat, level, or even close. Not being able to get comfortable in your shooing position makes for a very difficult time. The course itself was fairly difficult to walk and this old guy was fortunate enough to be driven around the course like a golfer with a golf cart. Thanks to Troy my driver and helper.
The targets were all well placed and clearly visible. The course was well spread out with enough separation lane to lane with no crossed or tangled strings. Mike put a lot of effort into creating an interesting course. Overall Mike and PaImyra put on a quality match and it should be considered by the top level guys as a must attend match next year. It is a great 'get ready" match for the fall grand prixs , worlds, and nationals.
I was really very happy with my score. Cleaned one lane, zeroed others but finished the course! Given the tough course Brian's score was even more impressive. Tough match but a very good time.
