PSI gauge stuck on Maximum Pressure

I have a Benjamin Marauder model BP2264 pellet rifle which I haven't used all winter. I kept it pumped to the max 3000 psi and stored in an upstairs bedroom. Now that the starlings have come back this spring and are making a mess, I've taken the gun out of storage and put it to use. I've noticed that the small circular gauge just ahead of the trigger doesn't seem to show a decrease in pressure after a dozen or so shots. It appears stuck at 3,000 psi. 

Obviously my question is how do I get this gauge functioning again?

Probably easiest thing to do is buy a new gauge.

A perpetually full charge. A magic PCP.....

Tap it, even if you need to degas and remove it and try again. If it doesn't free up then time for a new gauge.
