Pulled the trigger RTI

I pulled the trigger pulled the C C out and ordered the new RTI Prophet II compact in 22 caliber, I already have the RTI Prophet with a 177 , 25, and 30 caliber barrels , Got a spare 500cc bottle and a 700cc bottle installed on my Prophet now, I think I will be pretty well set up and can mix and match all the parts on the Prophets .
Now to just wait..

This should be good.
I will be looking forward to reading how the Prophet and Prophet II compare to one another.

I recently got a Prophet Performance in .22. I took advantage of the announcement of the II to shop get a little better price on last years model.
I figure the l limiting factor for me is me. The latest and greatest won't be needed until I hopefully master what I have now.

I am considering one of .25 barrels though. When they become available.

My Prophet II Performance Standard (22 cal.) arrived today. It's very accurate and precise right out of the box. I didn't touch a thing. Regulator set at 120 bar.

I mounted a Vortex Diamondback scope and promptly started sighting it in with FX 25.29 pellets. It was shooting around 885-900 FPS. I lost track of my shot string stats but they were within single digits.

It has a very low-profile and basic look to it but is very solid. It seems lighter than my FX Impact M3. I'll weigh them later if anyone cares. While I was bench shooting, it still seemed very well balanced for offhand shooting. Look out pigeons!

The magazines seem of very good quality and load like any other. Does anyone know if the pellets should be countersunk into the magazine? I did mine after loading with a small push of the allen key.

It makes a small ping noise while firing. I assume that's the hammer and just a characteristic of the air rifle.

It is my understanding I don't need to fiddle with hammer spring tension. I only need to increase/decrease the regulator pressure for desired FPS.

The trigger is fine by my standard. I'm not too fussy when it comes to them. It does have a lot of first travel play. I'll likely adjust half of that out.

I only wish I didn't have to pay the premium price but still cheaper than Impact and has better availability.

Happy to answer any questions if you are on the fence about buying one.

What draws me to the RTI line is the simple design, Built like a tank and simple to work on, Even I can change barrels, Yea the Prophet II run a little steep, I like to K I. S.S.
I bought it with plastic not money, LOL. And I also did a easy six moth pay plain no interest and the wife will never no and its my play money C.C I use.
Its nice being retired.

For the magazines, when I load mine on my Prophet (not a II) I always smack the magazine into the palm of my other hand to seat the pellets deeper into the magzine.

I don't think the ping noise is the hammer, at least on my Prophet 1. I believe it is a noise from the check valve between the tank and the plenum. If I shoot mine until the tank pressure drops below the regulator pressure, the ping stops.

The trigger is adjustable on the Prophet and from what I understand, it is not only adjustable through the two holes in the right side of the stock but you should be able to just the first stage travel through the linkages if you remove the side plates, but I have not tried this so can not verify it as fact.

Thanks for the tips on the mags. That seems like a time saver from what I was doing.

You are right! The first stage is not adjusted from the side plates. It's no big deal and I may not mess with it.

yes you can adjust first stage though the right side plate being taken off. be careful as it will not let the safety work if you go to far, then play with 2 scews to get it to work trial and error nice trigger system

Guy , I will not be shooting slugs out of my Prophet II , My back yard and target range is only 48 yards 50 yards Max. My own personal pit out by Kermit Texas the road caved in and I am unable to get down to it any more, So it doesn't really make since to shoot slugs unless my sparrows and Euro Doves get a lot bigger.
Mike
Kermit…I pass through there from time to time.

I love my Prophet and am interested to hear your comparison of the two models.

Yes, they are available at https://orioniguanahunter.com/
I just ordered one yesterday as I prefer single loading as well.
CARM has are really nice single shot loader too. I got one for mine and like it a lot better than a tray.
