My Prophet II Performance Standard (22 cal.) arrived today. It's very accurate and precise right out of the box. I didn't touch a thing. Regulator set at 120 bar.
I mounted a Vortex Diamondback scope and promptly started sighting it in with FX 25.29 pellets. It was shooting around 885-900 FPS. I lost track of my shot string stats but they were within single digits.
It has a very low-profile and basic look to it but is very solid. It seems lighter than my FX Impact M3. I'll weigh them later if anyone cares. While I was bench shooting, it still seemed very well balanced for offhand shooting. Look out pigeons!
The magazines seem of very good quality and load like any other. Does anyone know if the pellets should be countersunk into the magazine? I did mine after loading with a small push of the allen key.
It makes a small ping noise while firing. I assume that's the hammer and just a characteristic of the air rifle.
It is my understanding I don't need to fiddle with hammer spring tension. I only need to increase/decrease the regulator pressure for desired FPS.
The trigger is fine by my standard. I'm not too fussy when it comes to them. It does have a lot of first travel play. I'll likely adjust half of that out.
I only wish I didn't have to pay the premium price but still cheaper than Impact and has better availability.
Happy to answer any questions if you are on the fence about buying one.
What kind of groups are you making at 50m? Dos the magazine interacts with your cheek while shooting?
