Pulling the trigger on a new Texan tomorrow but can’t decide which caliber

Ordering an Air Force Texan SS tomorrow but can’t decide which caliber. Any of you have experience with these guns? Was leaning towards the .457 but the .357 also has my attention. Let’s hear some feedback please...

I had the original 45 cal. Had it upgraded tx2 carbon fiber tank etc. If you are hunting I would throw the bigger lead.

So I have a .308 LSS and can’t be happier, but I did have to set it up myself to get it to shoot. Those .45 calibers seem from my reading to be almost full proof with a ton of led options. Other calibers seem to be like mine and require some work to find the right combination.

I’m going with the .457 based on feedback and everything I have read. We can hunt deer and hogs here in Alabama so the big slug option was a big influencing factor from the start. Going to add a big tank and compressor to the mix as I feel the .457 likes to consume air and slugs at a higher rate. Also looking for a mould since father in law has everything to make slugs from his black powder days.

NOE bullet moulds will probably have some good .457 options. I have a .457 texan I've shot it a few times really a nice gun and handles way better than it looks like it would. It's the aluminum tank model and sure packs a whollop!

I cant imagine with that new valve and CF bottle. It was bestowed to me by a real good guy.
