Tuning Pulsar HP clipping the moderator

I have a new Daystate Pulsar HP that is clipping the moderator. I have tried moderators from Huggett and DonnyFL in .25 caliber both were clipping. DonnyFL has bored theirs out to .30 caliber and it is in the mail coming to now. That should be here midweek or at least by the weekend.

But -- the idea that this rifle would clip BOTH moderators makes me wonder - I did try a Donny FL .25 Tatsu and it does not clip that one.

I've had the shroud off so I thought I might have messed up the o-ring that spaces the shroud from the barrel. But - the rifle shoots to the same POI with and without the shroud.

At this point, I'm scratching my head and wondering what is going on. Any ideas, enlightenment, etc. would be appreciated.

That barrel tension alignment o- ring real critical in your case. You actually have higher probability with clipping with Donny items vs Huggets and HW and TKO brand.

You can just remove the shroud and bushing and screw the LDC straight on the barrel if clipping is of concern like how Flintsack did his since he is an absolute accuracy nutcase.

Found the problem - that danged o-ring on the barrel/shroud bushing. I sure wish I'd never taken the shroud off. 😞 I gotta get some Shoe-Goo to make the o-ring stay in position while I put the shroud over it. I know I'm using the correct size o-ring as I verified that with AoA techs. Is there a trick to getting this installed without messing up the o-ring other than being very gentle? I assume its ok to turn the shroud as I go in since it has to be turned into the action anyway. That shouldn't bother the o-ring I'd think.

I don't have an adapter to put either the Hugget or the DonnyFL directly on the barrel (although it is threaded). Does anyone know what thread that is? I might want to pick up an adapter for that just to have.

Grease the inside of the shroud (not on the threads though) so the shroud installation friction doesn't shift that non shoe-gooed o-ring.

Now you know why I really cringe when people brag about taking off their Daystate shrouds and or LDCs to clean their barrels. One day you keep doing this you find your groups open up then never come back to original 1/4" at 50 yards.

IDK never attempted to remove ANY of my Daystate Pulsar shrouds after the first one "Redwolf" that had resulted in similar issues you got. I even epoxied the threaded on LDC onto that gun then all was perfect in the world again!

Well honestly it doesn't consistently do 1/4" any more but still 3/8"-1/2". People gotta learn the hard way that's what makes us HUMAN.
