Pulsar Key switch mod

Hello all, Over at the daystate owners club there has been a few people having a issue with the gun dry firing by accidently because with it being electronic you don't need to cock the rifle it will fire with every pull of the trigger. Of course this isn't an issue if the rifle is in safe however with the style of the safety switch it's really easy to knock when you take it out of the case or when you clean it and one guy almost got banned from his club because of this. 

Although I haven't had a any accidents yet I decided not to risk it and mod my Pulsar by fitting a keyed ignition switch to mine identical to what is on my other electronic daystate's so the rifle cannot be fired without it being unlocked and it work's a treat so if anybody has had an issue maybe this is something you could do to yours.

I havent had any issues. It times out after 5 minutes and wont fire even if the safety is off. You have to cycle the bolt or safety switch to arm the rifle. An extra safety measure is never a waste of time however. I feel its actually safer than a typical rifle because of the 5 minute time out/dead gun unless you re-arm the system. Whomever that happened to.......sounds like it would have happened with a traditional rifle as well. My pulsar will not repeatedly fire with each trigger pull. You have to cycle the lever for each shot. I guess I dont understand.....did the rifle malfunction? Did someone have the rifle cocked/armed with the safety off and accidently bump the trigger? Do earlier models fire with every trigger pull without cycling lever?

you don't have to cycle the bolt mine and many of the owners on the DOC forum can also fire theirs continuously when the safety is off it wont fire a pellet but a blast of air is still a danger. I hvant had an issue with mine (yet) but I don't want to rick it at my club as its the only local club you wouldn't have this issue with a traditional mechanical rife as it needs to be cock. I don't know about your pulsar but ours in the uk you can fire a pellet release the trigger then keep dry firing without touching the lever like all the other electronic daystates the only difference being all the other daystates can be turned off with a key when your done with it.

I think they had an issue where one guy was cleaning his after cocking it and firing the gun to make sure it wasn't loaded then put the safety on and in the process of cleaning it he accidently knocked the safety off an it gave him a fright when it went off even know he hadn't cycled the lever. One of the other guys had a similar situation at his club and unsurprisingly had a angry ranger owner give him a first and final warning.

Like I said this hasn't been a problem so far for me but didn't really want to risk it so fitted a simple switch so I have piece of mind that the gun is completely safe and also so match my other electronic DS's of which I think is one of their best features and it cost me £20 to do.

I hear you then. Not trying to ruffle feathers. Im glad mine doesnt repeatedly fire with each trigger pull. If it ever does I will send it in.......could be dangerous. I wonder if the first ones were made that way and at some point they corrected it on the down low. Either way.....your mod is a very clean install and safe. They must have made an update because mine does not do that.

Thank's, Yeah it would be interesting to find out if it was a software update at some point that was our preferred option mine is one of the first 200 made so if anyone els has a pulsar with a serial number over 200 maybe you could try and get yours to dry fire and let us know?

My serial number is 1151. Had to be updated/fixed before that as mine will not repeatedly fire.....it must be cocked for each shot.

My AirWolf fires each time the trigger is pulled with the safety off.

Mine (0492) will fire, just once, if the safety is off and in standby mode.
