I'm not sure about the availability of Avenge X parts, but they are pretty modular and I would be much more inclined to take the gamble on a modular gun with easily available parts. That way you can at least be confident of your ability to fix it if something's not right.

In my case it was a Springfield Armory M1A replica and it’s the twangiest most inaccurate air rife I own.

Just like it didn't meet your expectations ? Used at PA is a trade in or a return or a display model , PA tests it to see if it meets new standards FPS/ FPE , .

My problem is that I’m really averse to returning something like that and 9 times out of 10 I’ll decide to try and fix it myself, (voiding whatever warranty it might have had), which is what I did with the M1A. I ended up back boring the barrel about a quarter inch and recrowning it and that improved its accuracy substantially, but it’s still a pig.

And I’m not trying to disparage Pyramyd in any way. They’re a reputable vender. I’ve bought tons of stuff from them and will continue to do so.

So the issue with accuracy has more to do with the manufacturer than Pyramyd Air? If so, from what I've read on forums that is a pretty common issue particularly with budget PCPs. Not every rifle coming out of the factory is going to be a tac driver, or even assembled correctly in some cases. The product of price point, QC costs, etc. Which makes for a robust aftermarket opportunity, thank you Hajimoto!

I have purchased several from PA, I just expect them to have problems or missing parts, nothing I can't fix..... last one was a Avenger that was missing the baffle and it had a leak, fixed the leak and made a baffle on the 3D printer, I then modified it to a 500cc bottle gun and installed a Donnyfl adapter for the Sumo moderator. I was going to make the adapter but the DonnyFL adapter was cheaper than I could make it... works fine.:cool:

I've purchased TWO refurbished guns from PA, and returned both due to air leaks (straight outta the box). They were good about the return, but in both cases there were no more "refurbished" guns to replace the ones I returned. So I got refunds and purchased new (one from PA, and the other from another retailer.) Here's where I learned something..... PA offers a "10 for $10" and "24 leak check" for $10.
At one time I thought WOW! What a deal! No more! While ordering from the other retailer, I mentioned those options from PA and was told... "If you want, we will do that for free...as long as you don't mind waiting the extra day before shipping." :oops: YOU BET! It might just be $20, but when another retailer is willing to do it for free....

Sorry, I got off subject there..... when it comes to new or refurbished parts, some bad experiences have taught me to stick with new....not just with guns, but for anything in my shops such as mills, lathes, or any other machine.

I feel largely the same way, but I've got nothing against used gear. Only refurbished.

I have purchased four rifles over the years from them, and never had any major issues with any of them, I wouldn't hesitate buying a rifle from them.
