Pyramid Refurbished Air Tank.

No, this applies to all CF bottles universally.

Once a hydrostatic test has been performed on a fiber wound bottle, the clock starts ticking on lifespan.

" Private ownership and non-DOT transportation are exempt."

Is it universally or only DOT certified ones like you said above? You keep switching back and forth...

@Chief Ten-Beers how about you post pictures of your bottle with the hydrostatic testing label and DOT writing for @Firewalker

Last time Matt....

Hydro testing is being done on CF bottles, it is destructive, that's already been explained and proper documentation provided.

Why is it done still? Because it's cheap and they can.

For those that are following this trainwreck, be advised that the data in the shared link is the current reasoning behind CF bottle testing and the "new" 30 year lifespans on properly marked CF bottles.

Hydro testing limits CF bottle lifespans to 15 years due to the nature of the test. This will not affect your bottles 15 year life nor the subsequent 2 tests that will have to be performed on your bottles if you wish to stay current with testing.

Federal regulations. Title 49 CFR general requirements and recertification

"How could it have passed a 7500 PSI Certification and not been diagnosed with a leak?"

Because hydro-static tests are to test the structural integrity of the tank, it is not to diagnose leaky yoke valves, that would be a leak down test, which they should have done.

I guess the same way folks pay for that ten for ten inspection on there new gun and get it broken or leaking or something that 10 point thing should of easy found ..lol.

Heck, I would have paid the $10 "24 Hour Leak Test" But I figured the word "Refurbished" meant ready to use and the Guy on the Phone telling Me that it was, meant "Good to Go"! LOL How Silly of Me!

What's referbished ? Maybe replace a new valve ?

I don't see welding or gluing the cylinder or recertification of the hydro ( then that leak would show ???).

Ya, I always figured the referbished tanks was a little suspect .. hmmm....

CF bottles are so inexpensive nowadays, I'd pass on anything used.
That is My plan. The problem is knowing proper valve/threads components etc. I just bought what I was told would work. I would rather have a "plug and Play" type of system. I live where there are little to no parts availability, and the buying/shipping back and forth has no appeal for Me.

What do you need to know? I'm sure I can help.
