QB 78 Bottle Conversion?

Yes. You would need the drop down adapter, cut threads off tube, drill holes for retention screws for the drop block.

And a Ninja regulated bottle or such.

Common and likely searchable on this forum mod for the 22xx crosmans.

The trick may be getting your hands on a tank block. Archer Airguns doesn't seem to have it listed any more, and the Umarex Gauntlet tank block is both better designed (safety) and cheaper by far but has been unavailable as a spare part for probably 2 years now.

I've done quite a few so if you have any questions, ask away.

I have a qb78 .22 on co2 that I really like shooting but my big tank is out of hydro. I have the bulk fill cap for the qb , questions are can I find a foster connect to attach to the cap and pump it up with my 3stage pcp pump to say 1100psi?
Any down side to this? On co2 it did 16 fpe w crosman premiers last I checked.

Even though you can put air in it you CANNOT exceed co2 working pressure.. downside.. Filling with air (1000psi) your shot string with drop like a rock (hypothetical example 900, 800, 500, 400fps) this is that it is tuned for co2 and will not be efficient on air.. I wouldnt recommend even messing around doing it..just get you tank hydro up to date and forget about filling your QB with air..

As jasonmc states, shot count will be very anemic on air, particularly at the energy level to which it is currently tuned. Getting 16fpe on CO2 translates to probably 24fpe on air.

I set up a .177 on air using a lightweight hammer (MDS nylon) and upgraded poppet to help eliminate hammer bounce and get the dwell down. It gets good efficiency as a result, and manages 13 shots at 12fpe inside a 4% extreme spread. Plenty for a gray squirrel hunt or a pest control session, but not so great for casual target shooting and plinking.

The heavy OEM hammer and poppet do not fare as well.
