question about carbon fiber tanks

So i noticed a lot of people like to go with the air venturi tanks. I also noticed they are priced significantly higher than some of the chinese brands. Such as tuxing, snowrain, acecare, etc.. Is the reason for this the DOT certification? I am seeing very affordable tanks that people dont tend to really bring up as much as air venturi. I was wondering if maybe manufacturing these at a cheaper price one day could be a good business venture or not. I have a lot of friends and family in China and India so it was making me wonder.

I only use tanks, hoses, and fittings from Joe Brancota even though they are pricier than most because 4500 psi is nothing to take chances with IMO. Joe's stuff is top shelf. You don't save anything if you have a failure. Some of the cheap Chinese stuff is made for paintball, like brass fittings which aren't designed for 4500psi. I also fill my own tanks with an Air Venturi compressor so I could get away with non DOT tanks but it is not worth the risk.

I have my own compressor. I wont fill a tank without the DOT cert on it.There are no shortcuts or assumptions when dealing with HPA. HPA is dangerous when not handled properly.
I don‘t do cheap bottles or valves.
I buy Tuxing, don’t give a sh t about DOT. Overfill with a cheap Chinese compressor too.

Yes, the usual FUD about DOT. No one that tries to claim that high ground has ever one time shown a GB or CE certified tank that failed. All of these tanks are made in the same places and at the same time. The difference is the manner in which they are tested. Exact same tanks, just a different test methodology.

The idea is that somehow the tanks tested to the European standard are less safe than tanks tested to the US standard.

Because as we all well know those Europeans totally scrimp on government oversight and regulation.

Couldn't be the DOT standard is a bureaucratic standard that far exceeds necessary safety standards.

I won't even go into the fear factor and the reality of carbon fiber tank failure modes. Well, maybe a little, they don't explode, unless physically stressed to the point of shattering the aluminum liner.

They are NOT all made at the same place. Ninja (and probably a few rebrands) are made in Dayton/Cincinnati Ohio. They DON'T produce Chinese tanks there.
How do you know the Chinese are testing tanks? You don't think that Chinese companies (and their high standards lol) would just slap a CE label on their junk?
Do you remember the TONS of Chinese drywall, builders had to throw away back around 2008? These guys (Chinese) couldn't get DRYWALL right!!!!!!!!!!
Want to see if Red Karma will tell you why 2" screws stripped out of a gun, simply from dropping it?
Yeah... I will pay a few extra dollars.

Feel free to point out where I said the tanks were made. I specifically wrote "places". Try to have your reading make sense.

I will note that you avoided, as the DOT crowd always do, ANY evidence that a GB or CE certified tank has failed.

I will also point out your unfounded claims. You make wild claims yet you provide no evidence that supports your claims. Again, do you have any evidence of substandard manufacturing of ANY FB or CE certified tank regardless of place of manufacture.

Your unfounded fears do not comprise evidence of the safety or lack of safety in the DOT, GB or CE certified tanks.

Also, All certifications require serialization of product tied to an issued certification. So feel free to explain how your fictional Chinese manufacturers.
A. Get certified (DOT, GB, CE)
B. Pass inspection (DOT, CE, GB)
C. Import while faking a certification.

I know and anybody that has bought tools at Harbor Freight over the years that Chinese products have improved. Having said that I’ll buy maybe not the cheapest but Tuxing has proven to be good products.
Oh I have Joe’s dual gauge valve and like it and Joe has taken care of a leaking gauge. But where do you think this was manufactured. My guess is China, Joe has put his name on generic gauges.

Now onto my original idea for this post, some people live in fear. I ,I, I wouldn’t do that you might get hurt….
Trying to impose their chicken sh t lifestyle on others.

There is also the tried and true assumption that because I paid more I obviously have a superior product. No actual evidence beyond price to support the assumption.

Yes, they have improved but when you are at the bottom there is only one way to go. lol. This is a forum. It is a place for opinions. If mine upset you. Tough bleep.
