Question for everyone.

I was wanting some advice on purchasing a new scope. I'm a big fan or Arken, and DNT.. I have several as well as Discovery HD and Athlon's + Riton..
and few more as well.. But I was wanting to try something different.
I see Element Helix often and have read some conflicting reviews here. Crimson Trace is another name that pops up as well as Vortex Viper, Venom...
Does anyone know of a sub $500 scope that beats the ones I'm already using? Most of the scopes I use are sub $500..
Thanks

I have this Crimson Trace on my AR coyote rifle. It's a great scope in all regards! However, the parallax adjustment is 50yds minimum. That's an issue with most of the Crimson Trace models for airgun use.

The Crimson Trace scopes are made at the factory that use to produce Nikon scopes.

I have this Meopta Optika5 on one of my 'woods walker' air rifles. This is an excellent scope with great glass and repeatable turrets. The Optika6 is reported to be even better, but I don't know first hand.

I would look hard through the Athlon lineup. Many are under $500. For benchrest (really 30 yard challenge) I got an Athlon Argos 10-40 for $300 from Camera Land several months ago. Great target scope for airgun ranges. I normally have an Athlon Talos 6-24 on my P35-177. Pretty good all around scope and only about $250. The Heras and Midas Tac lines would be more and probably have better glass than the Talos, possibly the Argos too. I like the little bump on the power ring that Athlon uses. Not as obtrusive than a lever but still gives me significantly more leverage than the rough surface used by others. I've never used it but they have a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty. They don't have anything really small that I've seen and I'd prefer a christmas tree reticle both of which Vector Veyrons have. But I think similarly priced Athlons have better glass and they have a better warranty too (I have a Veyron 6-24).

I also have a Discovery HD 4-20x50 FFP that I really like, large eyebox nice glass, and an Athlon Ares BTR 2.5-15x50 FFP clear glass small eyebox and a Discovery HD 2-12x24 FFP great little scope. I am thinking about trying the Discovery ED 4-20x50 FFP as I have heard it punches well above it's price point at $270. I still think my Discovery HD scopes are great especially with their large eyeboxes and their turrets are so easy to adjust with nice clicks.

Primary Arms also Barrea scopes...what about Hawke scopes, some of them are nice pellet riflescopes.
I also use some of the better Bushnell scopes.
I also use Burris scopes, you have to make sure it can focus at the range you are using ..
Yes Burris Hawke and Bushnell are all on my short list especially Burris and Bushnell after seeing cyclops review on Bushnell a few years back about the glass improvements. I have a LVPO Bushnell on a pb and it's really nice and clear.

The Athlon I have is their cheaper model.. I like the looks of the BTR as well as them having really good reviews. ..

Check out the maven line of scopes. I have their 4 to 16 power CRS. 2 . Second focal plane, right at $500 from Amazon. And it’s about 16 ounces it focuses down to 25 yards.
They are a manufacturer to consumer direct company. There is no markup like vortex or Arkin or Avalon. The glass and manufacturer is from China, but it is very much on par with some of the five to $600 Leopold scopes that I own.
